Hello, I have a 95 Talon TSI. The Car is mostly stock. I am thinking of buying a Punishment FMIC. Has anyone tried to install one, and if so did you have any issues with it? I haven't installed a FMIC before, I just want to know what to expect. Any help, or feedback would be much appreciated.

Thanks

It's not to hard, get a good dremel with a nice cutting disc. Cut into bumper by .5 inch-1inch to make a guide in area. Then take a drill and ruler, follow end of cut in like, drill a hole, then you'll have a complete and solid even cut all the way around.

I will say that this kit is very good for the money and got the job done well. The install is very straight forward and goes together greatly. I did run into a few problems, which I am not sure if PR has addressed. The BOV flange and the J-pipe to turbo flange were not quite milled 100% true. Meaning that even with a gasket, they leaked alot during a boost leak test. I had to partially solve the problem by sanding the 2 flanges smooth and adding a small amout of gasket material to the existing gaskets. The car held boot pretty well after all was said and done. Just wanted to give you a heads up on this because I know that I am not the only one to have this problem! Also the knockoff Greddy BOV that they send in the kit is JUNK! Use it as a paper weight and buy a real one. That thing fluttered like crazy and after trying to adjust it the screw just strips itself out! Hope this helps.

Thank you for the advice. I will run the BLT when I finish it. I was wondering about the BOV. I have an HSK, but the only problem its welded onto the SMIC piping. I was thinking of just going with the Greddy, but not sure if I should get the sype S, or RS. Any suggestions, or prefrence in general on BOV? Thanks for the video on the bumper cut that is going to come in handy.

If you want a type s go with a NRG type s, it's the same but apparently built with a stronger diaphragm than the greddy type s. The one that comes with the punishment kit will work, just take out the smaller spring like I said. I'm running the RS right now, the diameter of the valve is alot bigger than the type s knockoff that comes with the PR kit. I have a little bit of RTV under the flange and it holds 25psi from my 57 trim no problem, no leaks. It can be hit and miss with the RS, some are good some are shit.

I think I will go with the NRG BOV. I've read a lot of reviews on them, and I guess one of my buddies swears by it. I just ordered to FMIC and that BOV. I'll let you know how everything goes, and the end result.

What about your turbo? If you have the t25 on there, the fmic will not help your cause

I bought a PR kit a while back, and I remember it being a real solid setup for the price. BoV isn't something I would use, and I had eclipse 2GB bumpers that need slight cutting for fitment. Only other issue I remember was having a tight fit with the elbow pipe near the throttle body/battery. Otherwise, great buy

I'm thinking of purchasing this kit as well but will it work with the stock T25 ? I am planning to upgrade my turbo eventually.

When you buy it, there is an option for stock turbo or 14B/16G jpipe. I would go for the jpipe if you are planning to upgrade to a 16G in the future and not even bother installing it until you do. A FMIC on a T25 is pretty much pointless and the stock side mount is more than enough for the t25.

The turbo that's on it is a 14b (I think). I just bought the car, and that's what I was told. Not sure how to tell, or not. This is my first turbo car. Well, first non-mustang car. So I am learning about them. Not trying to sound dumb haha. Is there any quick way of telling, or not? I tried to find a model # on it, but I am not having any luck.

Do you have any pics of the front of it? Or do you know the numbers of the turbo? T25's exit the same direction as the inlet, 14B and 16G's fire "upwards" wich is why the Jpipe is needed. Here's a pic that shows 14B, T25, 16G...

Here's another pic of it. I didn't see any numbers on it

Is your car Auto or Manual? Every Auto guy runs into install issues with short route kits. This is because the Automatic transmission is larger than a Manual transmission.
