1g cas in 98 eclipse

I know this has been talked about 400 hundred times over. I have a 98 eclipse in the shop and this kid has been f over bad 20 grand and all he got was a 6 bolt block with non turbo pistons and over sized valves with blown head gasket. When i was taking the car apart i tdc it before i pulled the cas its 93 to 94 cas and it was 180 out. The spark plug and injector wires were normal. Is there a reason it was 180 out? I can't seem to why it any where saying to put it 180 out. RRE says to put it tdc. Also i was wondering if .40 over bore would be save to 600 horse. They .30 bored the block but f the walls up a little.

Is it possible you didn't put the motor at TDC before pulling the CAS? If the CAS is 180* out it will barely idle, typically you can't even get the car to start though.

Going .040 over is fine, if you go .40 over then you're most definitely going to have problems.

no the eninge was at tdc im 100% me and one of my other techs double check'd it. thats why im asking i iff like it was wrong also. Its 98 2g gsx with a 6 bolt swap. this kid has been ####ed over soo many times. Like i said hes lost 20k just on the motor build. both cam gears were up and the crank was on its mark.

on a 98 model do you still have to do the injector and spark move or can you just put the cas on and set it and forget ? Also how hard is it going to be to make this 6 bolt pass emission laws in cali?

Who has $20,000.00 dollars and would spend that much on just the motor by itself? You can get AMS crate motors for 1/4 of that .

Maybe 2k screwed over so far. Your post is super contradicting so I don't know where to start...

You ask if .40 over would be safe for 600whp but it has NA pistons? A blown head gasket? If he's at .30 over now and you bore it out more its going to need another set of pistons.

Sounds like this kid needs a good lawyer...

He has spent 20k on this motor and yes i know that sounds like way to much for what hes got out of it. Thats why im asking what im asking becuase i want to make sure they had shit the right way. And yes he asked for a 1g 6bolt sawp with eagle rods and ross 30 over pistons with a built head and arp main and head studs. what they give him was 6 bolt block with non turbo pistons becuase it gave him 9-1 ratio and over sized valves with arp bolts and single layer headgasket. Its no shit this kid has been taken and im trying to help him out. They didn't even bore the block right. the bore is right in the middle of 20 and 30 over. So im going ot have my machine shop do 40 over go with manley 8.5-1 ratio. This shop also put a leaking turbo on his car and every thing is full of oil. The shop he had taken to didn't give a shit about him and left arp washers laying in the head and put the bolts on with out them. i have pics of every thing and have sent them to the owner.

So on a car like this 98 gsx with a 1g cas dose it still need the plugs wires moved or just time in the cas with tdc? ALso am i going to need to do any thing to get this car to pass cali emiision??

But i got THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM!!!! and i have no clue what 180 out means, ?? is there no other words that can be used to describe what the hell that means, ? and what is pdc ? You'll either have to get link, ceddymods, or wire in a potentiometer to stop the car from throwing a random misfire code.
