Is it worth it to be able to change my psi up and down with that if im gonna get dsmlink? I was thinking it would make everything alot easier for me...

For what reason? Boost by gear, track vs. DD boost levels, just for the hell of it?

I wouldn't suggest really switching back and forth between various boost levels once you get a good tune on the car. Tune it for the level you want to run, and just run it. With the full version of v3 you can do boost by gear, which can be helpful if it's a track car.

Best boost gauge ever imo. Easy to use by the click of a button increase or decrease boost, not that you really need to change it once you get a tune, but you can't go wrong with aem.:thumb:

Since you have the worst year dsm (tuning wise on the ecu) becuase your ecu has no eprom or flashability, then you may want to consider buying a cheap 98/99 ecu that is flashable. If not, then you are going to have to get an eprom ecu which is not as cheap. And dsmlink alone is $700, while a tactrix 2.0 cable with reflash adapter is less than $200 and the ecuflash software is free and so is ceddymods (more software)... unless you would like to help him with a donation
now with your original question i think you should stick with a less expensive manual boost controller and adjust boost manually, because the aem tru-boost is just a really expensive controller, i would suggest getting a cheaper boost gauge and mbc. Dsmlink really doesn't affect this decision, i guess its all about preference. Heres a link to a review, and good luck on deciding on this. Oh and install is going to suck for the aem as well.

I was more getting at how often you'd be using it to change boost. You can use it as a gauge, no problem. Just don't go varying your boost often without watching the tune and making adjustments.

Yeah but going off what you said it kinda makes sense not needing to change the psi on the go haha and i dont feel like dropping $250 on a guage and a Boost Controller, so what would be a good guage that is somewhat cheap and easy to read

Well...sunpro is uber cheap and it seems to read fine for me LOL...autozone...:shhh: but there are other good ones... most people advocate autometer but those are $54. Defi are like top of the line for $130. but I'm going to get a glowshift for like $30 eventually. Becuase they are sick looking (just look at these vids: Glow Shift Gauges - YouTube
Jesus's 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse Sponsorship Video For GlowShift Gauges and CarSponsors.com - YouTube) these vids sold me. Good luck on choosing.:hellyeah:

Use the remaining $68 ($60 for a reasonably priced Autometer analog gauge) that you would have spent on that gauge towards a tuning device such as ECMlink. There is no need for something like that, you don't stare at it the entire time. On the plus side, if you ever end up switching to speed density the gauge will be pretty much worthless as youll be logging boost and not even watching your boost gauge while tuning.
