Okay so here's the thing. My buddy's friend's tsi has just started having some clutch issues. The last owner sold this car to this kid with a bad master cylinder.

I AM NOT TRYING TO FIX THIS CAR FOR HIM. I'm trying to buy it, he only wants 1500 and has a 6 bolt swap and build and everything is super clean and new ill show picks if i buy but i wanted to know how to test what the clutch issue can be.. but also not shown him that i know how to fix it, especially if its a easy fix. i convinced him the transmission is toast so instead of the 4k original he is selling it to me dirt cheap..

So one day he was driving and the clutch pretty much dropped to the floor. He got home and him and his dad replaced the master and slave. And supposedly bled the system.. But when i got there, the clutch was on the floor.. it came back a little bit but i still had to pull it up the rest of the way...

Also he said since the clutch needs to be pulled up a little further up.. he said the car will not go into gear when the car is running, but when the car is off you can put it in gear.. ( could this mean the clutch needs adjusted?)

Then i looked around the car a little Bit and it was super clean but noticed that they didn't have the master cylinder resivior cap on!?! he said they ordered one but didn't have one when they bled the system.. Could this be another reason why the clutch still doesn't pull all the way up?

Then he said when you push the clutch down it makes a noise but i didn't get to turn the car on because it was to late out and parents were asleep.. I feel like the noise is called from trying to push the car into gear not the clutch but i don't know..

This video shows the clutch pedal not coming back up and how stiff the clutch is.

my buddy had a similar problem. he bought his first manual car(2g gst) he had it for one day and next day he called me saying his clutch pedel stuck on floor. so i replaced master and slave and pedel, it did not stick anymore but it did what your first video shows, soft then back up but not all the way. so i figured cw or burnt clutch since his first stick car, dropped tranny and bunch of furball came out LOL.(the clutch disk was completely gone and it all build up into a a ball of hair looking stuff LOL..

depends where the noise is coming from. mine used to click every time i would push it but that was because of the pedal assembly being worn. Could be throw out bearing noise but i doubt it was that if the car was off. What kind of noise is it?

Heres the videos... Its making this noise and the noise gets progressively worse when you push the clutch in..

Might i remind you, the clutch pedal won't go the whole way back up after pressing it down, you need to pull it up.. He said this noise came AFTER he "BLED" the "NEW" slave cylinder and master cylinder...

^^ Here's the video of the slave rod.. If you look carefully inside that little hole, it doesn't look like the slave is pushing the fork in the whole way that it should..

And apparently, the noise came AFTER he put the new slave and master in.. so i have a feeling if i just bleed the clutch and adjust the clutch petal.. it should go into gear...what you guys think?

anyone?

Sounds like something is dragging. You might need to pull the tranny and look at the install. That is horrible. Doesn't sound like a bleeding issue. Maybe a bad TOB or something, but you have to pull the tranny to check that also.
