You have to still use the 2G numbers and settings because it is a 2G computer.

How are you monitoring this, do you have DSMLink? Shouldn't really be adjusting the TPS unless you have some sort of data logger that can read the TPS output voltage.
 
What do you define as a real low idle? Also is that a 2G TPS on that 1G TB or a 1G TPS?
 
That sounds more like a bad alternator than anything. What does it idle at without the AC? Also if you have a 1G TPS you probably want to swap to a 2G TPS. My friends Spyder needed a 1G TB for his turbo conversion and he needed to get a 2G TPS, I forget why though.
 
Why would the throttle position on a 1g be 8% at idle..That makes no sense..If the throttle is closed it's at 0%..

Bud, there is a difference between how a 1G and 2G ECU display the TPS value.

On a 1G you can think of it as a raw value and the correct setting per the 1G FSM is 0.5v +-0.02v which is 10% of the max. DSMLink modifies the TPS code and they like 0.63v. However, I've never seen DSMLink have a problem if it (TPS Voltage) and the 1G IPS are working to factory spec even with the minor voltage difference.

The 2G displays a scaled value where 0% = closed. The 2G FSM says the 2G TPS should be adjusted by position to the point where the IPS inside it just switches from closed to open while a feeler gauge holds the throttle open a specific amount not by TPS voltage. If you do it correctly DSMLink will be happy. The 2G FSM says TPS voltage at that point can be anywhere from 0.4v to 1.0v and be in spec.

I prefer follow the FSM procedure over the video above.

As others have stated, use a 2G TPS when you swap a 1G (91-94) TPS onto a 2G and follow the 2G adjustment procedure. Much less headaches that way.
