My ecu has issues so I got a used one from a guy here. I go to do the swap (90 to 91 ecu) My wire colors for those pins are different from what the threads say on here.

My pin 6 is solid brown

My pin 14 is Blue with black stripe.

Do I still swap the same pins?

Yup that is what VFAQ says also. I am looking at the large connector on my car and there is no green wires at all on it...

oops actually there is one green wire with a red stripe.

I am sure. I can text you a pic if you wanna pm me your number.

Here are the pics of the plug in my car. as you can see the color of pin 6 is solid brown and pin 14 is blue with black stripe.

crazy, i was just trying to figure this out today. I have a 90 nt talon and im doing turbo swap. Can anyone tell me how to read the pinout diagram? Is it showing you from the end of the clip that goes into the ecu, or from the wires going into the clip?

Well to bring this thread back to my problem.... I went ahead and swapped pins anyway figuring the circuit in the ecu should be the same no matter the wire color. My idle was good and my TPS actually adjusted correctly (that was the original problem that led me to the ecu) but the car cuts out and wants to die if I give it any gas. So again I am stuck. I am really curious about why my wire colors are different and why the car will run fine off of idle with my old ecu and will idle fine but wont run off of idle with the new one?

You would swap the same pins, however, I think you have picked out the wrong ones (if you still swapped the brown and blue w/ black). The first picture I flipped 180 degrees to orient it the way you should be looking at it.

The first question is why your harness isn't stock?

How do we know that either of your ECUs is good? Last time you were trying to use a 91 NT ECU. What ECU are you using now?

There could be lots of things wrong at the same time with your car that might be causing this.

In your pictures pin 6 is yellow w/blue stripe and 14 is the second yellow on the bottom just before the yellow/red and red wires. (Ah beaten to it...)

I have no idea what the deal with the harness is.

Thanks to your (steve) page I checked the numbers before I bought this ecu. Its MD166262

Ok thanks for the help on the wires. I was looking at and counting from the wrong (Front) side of the harness.

I will try swapping the right wires now and hope that works! I already bought caps to put into this ecu just to make sure they are good.

The guy I bought it from says the car ran great but it jumped time and messed stuff up so he is parting...

Did the pin swap (right ones) and it runs good!

It looks like the pictures are gone from the original poster showing the 1G connector in the tech article.

I'll see if I have some.

Thank you sir, appreciated...

how are you supposed to do the black and white wire splice?

Sorry, I don't understand your question. Which black and white wire?
This thread is about swapping pins 6 and 14 on a 1G ECU connector and those are green and green and white.
