hello all ..

I want to make a match between the cable of 1G MAF to MAF 2G cable.

I got the MAF Sensor Mitsubishi Lancer Year 97 - with no turbo.

What I want to do is, adjust somehow the old connection to the new connection

And connect the cable that came with the new sensor 2G.
Back to the old 1G connection.

All this instead of buying the adapter 1G 2G MAF what they sell on

Ebay or anywhere else, because the price expensive + shipping.
So I thought maybe what I intend to do I got easier. What do you say?

Another thing the guides on VFAQ what I saw, this is probably the turbo model.
For me it NT then there are only 6 wires instead of 7.
I do not exactly understand what's going on there, but hope to
understand

I do not want to cut the existing cable, it will have problems in the
future.

Just I want to get out the old sensor head .

Dude, don't worry about 6 or 7 contacts on the plug. Just apply all of the 7 cables (the 7th one which you won't need on an NT is for 'idle', which the NT doesn't have).

I did the same years ago. I just got a Lancer MAF, connected all the 7 cables though my old NT just had 6 contacts and installed it. It's definately worth the effort. No low RPM issues anymore, even if you installed an open air intake without the air can.

Unless I plugged all the 7 wires, I could fortnuately now re-use the MAF in my GSX, and thank god it worked out fine. If you succeeded connecting the wires, that's god.
If not, send me a PM.

I doubt you would get any performance benefits on a N/T

The first thing the VFAQ states is... "The 1G MAF has a lot of drawbacks to it, the biggest being that it is too small for enough airflow for high horsepower applications without major mods"

@trav83: believe me or not, but it really worked out fine and my installation is the proof that you're wrong.
After installation I had no idle probs at all using an open air filter

I didn't say "it wouldn't work" or "it would not solve your idle problem" I'm just saying that I doubt you will see any performance gains from this, I never stated this as a fact.
