Im looking at the one from Extremepsi, Wondering how you guys like it? How much it changed your throw? And how installation was? Thanks guys :hellyeah:

I have one, its a good shifter and at a good price. Installation was simple and it shortened the distance a lot. I have mine on 30% and I like it a lot. When I had it on 50% it was hitting the cables so I just put it at 30% and haven't had any problems with it.

I have one too and it works great! Also I didn't know you can choose between 30%-50%! Is that the option where you can flip it? Because when I go into first gear I feel like I'm really close to the plastic around the shifter. Also it always leans forward even in neutral. - Thanks! Ryann :talon:

I was told before that a short shift does damage to your transmission over time, always made me lean away from getting one. Is this true? I would love to get one for my car.

Ya mine feels close to the plastic also so I am going to take off my center console and trim back the plastic enough so it isn't so close but still holds the boot on. And mine sits a little forward too but doesn't hit the stereo deck and still clears by a good amount.

Megan Racing

This has the 50% reduced throw option? Doesn't say that in the description. Thought only the retired B&M model offered both. Good to know!

If you look at the picture on Megan racing site, you can see it has two holes on the bottom. The 50% is the far bottom and the 30% is the top one.

Complete lie. Do you understand what your shifter actually does? There are shift cables connected to the transmission, and the shifter moves this. All a short shift kit does is exactly that, it makes the throws shorter.

Good to know on the shifter. Ive seen a lot of people running Megan products more often over the past few years. They seem to be pretty solidly made.

Yeah Ive heard and experienced only good from them so far.. I love my Muffler personally.

The only reason you hear these stories is because someone installs a short throw and then shifts like an ass (i.e. slams the shit out of his shifts) and ends up snapping a shift cable or the shifting fork. You could do the same thing with a stock shifter.

Like above, they ruin their trans by shifting like a jackass, or not getting their cables adjusted right so the trans doesn't shift right. If you don't have it adjusted right you can wear out the trans by forcing shifts and bending shift forks.

I've had one on my 2G for three years now, and love it. I would say it is one the first mods you should do to any DSM.

I had one on my old talon for 4 years. I never had a problem with shifting. Like stated above, adjust your cables and don't drive like a dousch and it will be fine.

Can you go into detail about adjusting the cables

I installed mine.. Only thing I dont like is that it sits so far forward.. Oh well, have mine on 50% and like it besides that!

Yes, old thread, but on topic. Is the Megan short shifter shorter as well? Wish someone had pics of it installed in their car. If anything, I may get it for the shorter throw, then cut and weld if need be. But would just be nice if it was already short enough to where I don't have to bother having to modify it.

I have one and love it. From first to eecond is only about a 2" throw. If you add a b&m t-handle shift knob its even better.
