I'm looking for a nice place to mount a shift light. I don't have one yet cause i don't want to put it anywhere ovious. I was thinking about making a spot in the gauge pod or where the cigarette lighter is. I really want to see a pics of one in those 2 spots. Thanks.

well not so much with the Eclipse.. but with my Celica and your shifting at 8300rpms and trying to shift right before fuel cutoff, it was key to be right on with it.. and I plan on doing the sme with te Eclipse between 8500-9000

Yup. I guess its something you learn autocrossing a T25. You have to know by feel when its time to shift because there is no time to look at the tach.

In any case, what else do you have to look at while drag racing? ;) The only time I can think of it being beneficial is the first 330. After that, if you can feel your car reving up, then you have issues. Maybe I am not doing something right or maybe its because I have just a damn slow car, but after the first 330, I have plenty of time to look at my tach....and my a/f gauge.....and my EGT.....etc etc etc. :D

But then again, that's just IMHO and I don't drag race enough to comment really.

Heres my shift light. Its a white light, and you can adjust brightness and plugs in the cigarrette lighter. Its by PIVOT.

Tevenor: i have to agree with you....

not the honda crack... but i am the type of person who feels and hears the engine... i've always been that way... im sure thats how you are too but they have their reasons and i think that they want the light so they can cocentrate more on racing ect ect.... which isnt a bad thing either... as for not having it obvious.... wouldnt u need it anyways due to the fact u want to know when to shift ^^;

my friend has one in his CRX... and i think its a waste of money but thats our opinion. Personally i think its kinda cool just a waste of money ^^;

But if you want it somewhere where u can see it and not too obvious you can put it on the left side of the odometer... like the right of the gas meter. Thats my opinion

Get a 20g and cams and you'll hit the rev limiter ;).

1st-2nd. 1st is gone so quick you have no time to really look at the tach.

A shift light will help when your at the track. You can get consitant times because you shift at the same point everytime.

I know that jus about everyone that drag races can hear their motor when it is time to shift but I doubt that if you do that way you will shift at the exact time every time.

Thats jus my 2 cents
