i just got a new motor and a stage 2 port one the head now i got the motor and the valve cover and block are different colors and the stage 2 port job on the head is a lil shady looking has a lot of rought spots what you think here are some pics please look closely !!! thanks for all of you all opinions before hand :D

In pic 1 is the thermostat housing looks dirty and like they just hottanked and left it

In pic 2 looks like they knicked the hell out of them valve body

In pic 3 looks like they left a whole lotta rough stuff between the valves wich i thought was supposed to be smooth

AM I just being anal or is this cool and would yall accept it if it were you ???

I'm not that impressed with that. Here is what a good port job should look like. This wasn't done by a shop and its actually not even done either.

Thats more what im talkin like I just paid over 3 K for this and it is supposed to have a stage 2 port job on the heads and if this is what i can see looks like i dont wanna see the inside at all...

Im not a half ass person at all and this looks a little half assed to me for real

Yeah thats a bummer, I've never had a shop do work like that for me before, so I really don't know what the normal quality of work is like. So I don't know what kind of advice to give, I'll leave that up to someone else.

It looks like something my little cousin would do. I would ask for a refund. After seeing the port job i would be weary of the assembly of the block.

thats what i was thinking too supposed to be smooth for better intake exhaust flow and out of the 4 intake 4 exhaust ports that hook to the manifolds id say 2 of them look good . like wtf really

that looks like someone had a pot of coffee and sat down with a dremmel tool. And they did the work with the valve gides installed so there is most likly metal shavings/dust in the heads still.

This is why I wil go to a shops place of business before having work like this done. Its to easy for people to show a nice garage but actually be doing this kind of work on a bench in their filthy garage.

I just redid the whole front end of this car and figured id order a motor he told me all I needed to install was the intake and exhaust which i asked numerous times and it cam bare block not even an oil pan on. im doing this work myself new to dsms but old to a lot of american muscle cars and a whole lot of military equipment which is all a lot of turbo charged cat engines

Guess i didnt do enuff research

Ask for a refund.

Really think I am going too

I have a feeling I know what vendor this is but who was it? Of course im guessing by the block color but its the only clue i have to go by.

Im in the same boat as you but Im going to do my own build so if it gets screwed up no one is to blame but me.

I could have done that half A'd job for you in my spare time for free.. that's horrible. That head will probably (just my 2 cents) flow as good if a stock head, if your lucky, more then likely worse though. I would CC the runners and make sure they are all the same. Did they (whoever did the "attempted" port work) do anything to the bowls or combustion chamber?

Get a refund I would not pay for something that looks like shit. Pm me the shop that did the build also leave feedback in the vendor review

Wow, personally i would be upset about that. Kinda of looks like when i took a carbide bit to my oil passages for the first time LOL. I would get a refund or try to if I was you. Good Luck

porters performnace did this thought they had a good review i will soon send this motor back and ask for a refund this is a whole lot of crap i guess sorry for the people i suggested them to without a proper review they seemed to have a good review and all and had good customer service for sure

Yes, please PM me with the shop so I know not to go to them for future reference.
Get your money back though. You shouldn't have to pay that much for a half-assed job. As said above, you don't even know how the internals are. They could be finger tight and maybe even stock internals if you haven't looked.

EDIT: Got it. thanks for telling us the shop. I almost bought a tucked harness from them, Thank god I didn't.
