I have a stage 4, and it does the job. The springs in my ACT were on the verge of popping out, as you may find by doing a little research. They were no longer tight in the hub and could almost be removed if pried out with a screwdriver. :notgood:
No more "sprung" clutches for me.

Yeah, they're really well made, I have a stage 1 in my car and it works just fine, I'm not sure about how they hold up under stress or in performance situations, but you can't beat it for the price

I messages aimco and correction with the stage 4 is like 450 hp 426lb tq, but I have had my stage 4 unsprung for 10k miles and it's been holding my back to back launches and my hard daily driving. I want to know about their flywheels though.

my only experience with these clutches was my nephews turbo type R. He bought this clutch and installed it, pulling out his act clutch because it said stage 4, he broke it in properly and the clutch never would really hold enough to burn out, 3 months later we pulled the trans and found the the springs on the 6 puck had all blown up diging in to the middle of his flywheel. so we bought a new act disk, 4 puck unsprung, and put back his act...held like a champ check em out spamburglar808 on youtube

I am using an xtd stage 4 pressure plate with a clutchnet unsprung 6 puck.

The reason for this combo was I got the xtd out a a repair I did on some ones car and he destroyed the 6 puck because he drove the car with the trans not bolted down and ruined the splines. The clutch had less than 300 miles so I reused the pressure plate on my car.

I personally don't approve of the XTD or XTS clutches found on ebay. They burn up too quickly, and it's $200+ dollars spent worthlessly. I bought my Competition Clutch for a around $330, and it works beautifully on and off the track.

i had the stage 4 in my awd, i had to get the local clutch doctor to re pad the disc after a few months but it's worked great since.

oh it costed me 40 dollars to repad it, so it was still a cheaper route.

currently running 420awhp and 495 ft. lbs. of torque on my xtd stage 4 unsprung 6 puck and its never once gave me a problem! Its a littler noisier on decel but the thing grabs and holds up to back to back to back to back launches everytime!

I broke mines in a few months ago, I have the XTD stage 4 four puck sprung (I know) and it holds all my 15psi launches all day, the tires break loose before my clutch will. I havent check to see wow the clutch itself is but it feels great.

I installed a brand new stage 3 xtd clutch last month. I have not been able to drive my car since then because it will not disengage. Have went over everything and replaced everything possible to make it work and still nothing. Now the dick at aimco is denying anything is wrong with the clutch or pressure plate and will not contact me back. The risk is yours just like I was told when i first bought it.

Check your master cylinder.

I have a stage 4 unsprung xtd clutch, going strong for 20k miles with around 420awhp. Daily driven as well. Great clutch for the money. BE SURE TO GET THE UNSPRUNG XTD CLUTCH as the sprung one, the springs tend to "pop" out.

Your first issue is going to aimco. They find every opportunity to cut corners. On my fiances old jetta she went in for tranny work which I told them was the valve body. They ended up finding hairline cracks in the case and said that was the issue after they completely rebuilt the transmission 3 times! Threw the old valve body on their and the thing kept screwing up. It was so bad they paid for a rental car for us for a month straight. Never did fix it and ended up selling the car. For the person that said your burnt your clutch you didn't get the proper one. If you got the stage 4 un sprung you wouldn't have because its a ceramic metallic clutch I believe and grips more the hotter or harder you launch. Mine is holding fine with a lightweight flywheel and oem TOB
