My car has been using way too much fuel for the past month now and its also showing the error code p1105 (fuel pressure solenoid). I tried replacing it with the same part of my 1g talon and it didnt help. Last weekend I installed a wideband and found it to be running extremely rich. once warmed up at idle im running 10.9 on the wideband. Now I know running rich under boost can most likely be a boost leak and will be testing for that this weekend but what could be causing it to idle so rich? And I have a feeling its the same thing causing it to use so much gas. Any ideas?

I had the same problem and replaced it also with a 1g solenoid. When I did my exhaust, turns out the owner before me BUTT CONNECTED the o2 sensor after the cat. I cleaned it up nice, installed a new one and SOLDERED the extra wire needed instead of butt connecting and that's all she wrote. Now I only get a code for the cat since I have a test pipe. If u haven't changed ## o2 sensors, I'd do that first and clear the code to see if it comes back.

Well I have replaced my front sensor around a year ago and I dont have a rear sensor bc I have no cat. I made a sensor box to trick the ecu (I think there is a vfaq on it somewhere) And it ran fine for over a year with it so I dont think that is the issue unless a resistor in the box burned out or something. Anyways thank you for the response anymore ideas?

Well ive heard the cars generally run really rich out of the factory. Its definitely not your solenoid that's bad, try cleaning your air filter and do a tune up if you haven't done one in awhile

The wires dont have too many miles on them and the air filter just got cleaned as well. The plugs could possibly be bad even though they arent to old either ill pull them and see. The fuel filter also got changed not to long ago as well. I dont know what it could be but my car gets awful gas milage now.

Also, I hope your not venting to the atmosphere without proper hardware. You seem knowledgeable but I'm just throwing it out there.

Absolutely not LOL ill be installing a maf translator in a week or so for that. Also I will note that it doesnt run so rich all the time, sometimes it idles fine. I dont know what it could be either its a huge headache because the code its throwing isnt helping me at all.

Ignore the code. That's not the problem. Something is causing it to run rich which throws the solenoid off. If you already replaced it trust me its not the solenoid because that happened to me like I said, I was fortunate it was a stupid problem. Start poking around your fuel system and ignition system

odd question here but could the MAS possibly be causing the issue? I mean after all it does play a huge part in fuel trims.

Possibly. Try cleaning the pins on the connector and make sure its tight. If u have a spare throw one on

I do have a spare one and it wont get to tight because the clip is broken. Im putting a GM MAS and a translator on it next saturday so if its not fixed by then and the GM fixes it then my answer will be obvious. Til then anyone got anymore ideas? I cleaned the plugs they were slilghtly fouled nothing unordinary.

A while back I took the thermostat out bc it stuck on me when I was on the road and I never put it back in. Could this be the whole problem? I mean i figured if it was gonna cause issues then it would throw a coolant error code.

Come on guys I really need to get this fixed and I know someone here knows what the problem is. Anywho a quick update I put a thermostat in and it helped a good bit but its still throwing the code (which could be nothing at all) but the only thing that concerns me is that once it gets good and warmed up (driving for about 8 miles at 60mph+ speeds) it starts to run rich again, around 12.4 on my wideband, is this normal?
