Ok, I'll try to be as descriptive as possible.

It was explained to me that there was a flywheel issue that came about that caused this discussion.

Car - 1994 GS
Engine - 2.0 dohc 7-bolt N/T (edited to add engine type)
Car was bought not running, with an incorrect auto trans installed, this was unknown at the time of the purchase.

What he wanted to do was take a manual trans from a '94 Talon DL 1.8 and place this onto the 2.0 7-bolt.
But, some problems came about attempting to do this, that was not explained to me (if anyone knows why this cannot be done, please explain, thanks!!).

What he told me was that in order for this mess to work, that a 6-bolt crank would need to replace the 7-bolt crank in this 2.0 engine.
Now, I consider myself somewhat bright and can logically work my way around mechanics and electronics, etc... but from past experience, I'm pretty sure this can't be done. because you're dealing with two totally different engines, correct?
Why would this person want to go through the trouble of even attempting this, when the only goal is to get a stick installed?
Would it simply not be wise to just get the auto trans that works with this engine, install it, and be done with it?
Or, by his logic, is this possible?
