first o2 dump

ok so ive been wanting an o2 dump for awhile now, and i know alot of people think their annoying but personally i think they sound great. So i was wondering do i really need to got out and buy a top dollar dump or does it really matter? ive been looking at this one on ebay DSM PORTED EXTERNAL O2 DUMP HOUSING Talon Eclipse 1g 2g:eBay Motors (item 350289966732 end time Dec-13-09 18:53:56 PST) . that dump will do fine. I ran the exact same one for 6 months until i got annoyed at the sound. Couldn't drive and boost anywhere without that loud air rushing sound.

thanks for the advice, i know ill probably get anoyed with it after a while, which is why i dont wanna spend a whole lot.

+1 it does scare people. I do remember getting the finger from alot of people walking in the neighborhood and people i passed while driving on the highway/parkway.

A pipe is a pipe, the only differences are they thickness, grade metal, weld condition and accuracy. Most exhaust parts from ebay will be fine. You may need to adjust a hangar or lengthen a piece. I would stay away from the manifolds though as they would be highly prone to cracking with lower grade welding and materials.

An o2 dump is great if you're running a lot of boost, although their main purpose is to keep boost under control for those attempting to run low boost. Those running stock or near-stock boost levels will become annoyed quickly because their wastegate is open all the time. If you're running 20psi, there's less of a chance the wastegate will open during everyday driving.

Once you become annoyed and you find yourself trying to keep your foot out of it, you're defeating the purpose of having a turbo car.
