I have the cam gears locked, no matter how many times I try I cannot get the oil pump mark to line up. It is either ahead or behind. Any ideas? Thinking about just taking the belt off again and starting over.

I don't have as much experience with a 2g (7-bolt), but on the 6-bolt I usually have a little trouble with the crank being dead on, and that has caused my oil pump mark to be off as well.

Not sure if it will help you or not, but I always put the crank a tiny bit ahead and the oil pump a tiny bit ahead, then when I tighten down the tensioner pulley, the oil pump sprocket and crank falls right into place from the slack being taken out of the belt.

It's always worked quite well for me, so you might give that a shot.

Oh, I should also note, if your head has been milled, that can throw things off just a little as well, but that usually shows up on the cam gears, if you focus on the middle timing marks being even with the top of the head, it is right, the outside marks don't line up with the head if it has been milled.

True, it's quite the trick to get all the marks aligned up when you do the tensioner pulley and the adjuster..

...Took me 3 plus hours to get the marks all together when I did my belt.
