Well for several days i been wondering whats been going on with my car and i think i solved it. First did a tune up(Replaced Spark plugs, Spark plug wires, Oil filter, Air Filter, Fuel Filter. Now after that i drove the car around and much better intill i got around 4500 rpms and it felt like my car was tugging for power. I opened up the hood and since i dont trust the stock boost gauge i asked myself "Man it feels like the turbo is shoving the boost right through" And i looked down and noticed that the acutator lever or actuator is stuck and wont go open. My Question is this a hard fix or is it fixable? and if not do i have to double check the exhaust manifold as well or replace the wastegate? btw its a 90 eagle talon tsi awd

Spray some wd40 on the wastegate actuator arm where it connects to the lever, let it sit for 5 minutes, and take it for a spin and see if it solved the problem.
If not you might have to take the turbo out and see if the flapper is getting stuck with something.
Honestly, if it was me i wouldn't even bother with the WD-40, i would just take the thing off and figure out what the problem is. Chances are WD-40 wont make it magically start to work unless you work it first. I like to figure out why it stopped working before i fix it....that's just me. But worst comes to wost, i believe a new one is like 80 bucks
I had the same thing happen to me when i had the t25 on mine, turns out the wastegate was just bad internally i believe, nothing wrong with the flapper.
I would say go on ebay or craigslist and try to see if you can find a used good t25 actuator.
If not don't even bother upgrading it and save for a 16g and stay out of boost in the meantime.
just replace the actuator. or you can weld the wastegate flapper shut on the turbo and get an external. i had similiar problems, went external and love it, it really is a good upgrade.

That is just a waste of money and overkill for a t25.
He's better off just replacing the actuator alone.

Not true in my eyes. If he upgraded now EVEN THOUGH it is infact a T25. It would save hassle and more installation later down the road when he wanted to go with a bigger turbo.
In my eyes i like to plan for the future. A FMIC seems kinda overkill for my T25. But i got it because im sending out my 16g to be rebuilt. Always plan ahead.
I know i was like why are they saying t-25 lol, but they probably were paying attention to what i used to have.. Well im getting alot of opinions, but i would try to do the least before the worst. Probably try to check out the actuator first and see if i can get it loose if not get a whole new turbo setup i was thinkiing of going 16g as a matter of fact.
Do it. Before my seals blew and my car developed a sense of self defense i loved mine.
Def try to get the arm unstuck. If not save and get a external. Makes for a great addtion as well as it opens the door for alot of future mods to be made easier.
This exact same thing happend to my 16g.. But I took the turbo off from the get go to see what was going on.. Like some previous posts said, I just sprayed some wd-40/liquid wrench on the flapper and worked it until it moved easily enough so i could move it with my fingers. Bolted everything back up, and theyre ya go, couple hrs of work and a 3 dollar fix. Car ran great until the turbo blew up hahaha. Good luck.

Also i thought the 1g's were 14b based not T25
Why upgrade when maybe all the turbo needed was a spray down of wd 40, or worse case scenario, a newer used wastegate which will allow him to run his current turbo a little longer before upgrading ?
It's like saying you have an exhaust leak at your downpipe to cat-back connection cause of a gasket that's all beat up and cracked, you're not going to replace the whole exhuast system just to save future hassle, i am sure you will rather replace the gasket itself for the time being.

If this is not your daily, park it and go ahead and upgrade. If this is your daily, try just removing the wg actuator and try to open and close the wg with your hand. If it does not move freely, I would remove the turbo and pull the o2 housing to see whats going on.
