ok, so i no theres alot of threads about injectors but nothing that really helps me out with my perticular problem. i have a jdm motor with 510 injectors it was supposed to have a big 16g but i have to run my stock t25 for now. but the problem im having is when i turn my car over it acts like its wants to start but dosent :banghead:? ive tested for spark, fuel, compresstion, and engine timing everything is working good and im spraying fuel but just wandering if its to much fuel for my stock presure regulator. also im not sure if this matters but when i turn my key on my radiator light comes on could it be that i dont have enough coolant for the coolant temp sensor? thanks for the help

Check your coolant level. The 510cc injectors, i believe if i'm not wrong, are standard on evo3 motors, so you should be ok.
As for the car cranking over, have you checked to see if maybe you have a clogged fuel filter or line/s that is not allowing enough fuel to get by ?

i took the fuel line off and had my buddy crank the car gas came out at a pretty good rate. i had just out the gas in. but the car had sat for about a year before i bought it i drained the tank before i put gas in it. i figure it has to be a sensor because ive checked everything over and over i have a 1g cas on it could that be why its not starting even though im geting good spark?

yea it has nothing to do with your injectors. i have the same motor as, you, except mine didnt have the 16g turbo, the owner i bought the car decided not to put it on, and wanted to make some extra cash to sell it to me, anyways, i ran my stock t25 with your yellow top injectors runs just fine, and i recently put in a big 16g in it.

honestly i have nothing so far i really wanna hear the car run for at least 5 seconds before i start buy expensive parts. im just trying to figure out why its wont start ive checked and checked. when it acts like its gona start it shudders and continues to turn over. im in the military and i have to go to texas here pretty soon but i cant go without my car

60cc larger should'nt make the car not Start, a bit of driving and your fuel trims should take the extra fuel out...

Anyone know what the deadtime is for the 510's?

to the OP
you have a pic of the injectors? are you 100% sure thier 510's?
maybe their from something else and just happen to be yellow?
They did come with the motor right?

I understand believe me im in the military as well and know what a military budget consists of...however, what are you using to tune? If nothing and dont wanna spend the money on link go pick up a safc

yes the jdm motors came with the yellow top injectors which are 510cc an also come with a 16g turbo, but im pretty sure its a small 16g not a big one. my motor had came from a 92 GVR4, wish i had bought the trany from the previous owner would have been nice.

The radiator light is to do with overflow level. The ECT can feed the ECU a bad or glitched out signal if the water level is low. The engine will usually run as the sensor will have the latent heat from the housing. Blotchy running is from water gurgeling by now and then. If the plug is off the ECT, the two prong on the Thermo housing, it will hardly run. A pressure washer to the CPS will give a no start. Tres...

I'd go with a openport 2.0 cable and Evo Ecu to tune or even a 98-99 ecu....IMHO before spending $$$ on link for pretty much stock car...or half a$sin' it with AFC

I agree with my1gdsm. Back then 2 years ago when i had my 1g tsi awd automatic, it had the 390cc injectors and i had a gm maf/maft setup with it and a friend gave me a set of 450cc injectors for free so i slapped those on as well since the maf-t didn't have any calibrations for the 390's.
Regardless of the injector upgrade the ecu still was seeing 390cc so i am sure i was running richer but my car never had a problem starting, but it did feel a little boggy at times at acceleration from a stop.

thanks for all the help. but can anyone kinda point me in the right direction? my over flow bottle is completly empty because the guy i got the car from didnt give me the cap so i have to get one. i dont have anything to tune with i have ecm link program but not the chip and cable.im not planing on driving the car till i get it tuned but just wanna make sure it will run

Im confused...why would using an afc be considered half assin it?

your tricking the Ecu...by making it see the wrong airflow

Unless your changing the actual Fuel and timing maps in the ecu then your going to be in the wrong area of the timing map.
thats how you get knock when you goto lager injectors and pull the airflow back,The ecu looks up the timing it should give for the load area it's in.it sees the wrong area since your trying to give the motor less fuel giving you to much/wrong timing advance

remember evo III motors run 9.0 to 1 compression.....

And?

the Stock 2g timing maps aren't very agressive...Infact if he was running the the same maps from a Evo III he would be in worse shape he'd have Mad JDM Timing like run for E85 ROFL

I think all this is getting a bit off-topic from the OP's problem though... .

your confusing me im new to dsm's are the 510's throwing my ecu so outa wack it wont start?

Sorry, We where getting off-topic their

Fill out your profile with the most info you can and tell us as much as you can about the Evo III motor swap...

Make sure you have your plug wires hooked up right, as the 95 has a different fireing order then 96 and up.. Make sure the 1g cas is hooked up right..

The car should start without a dout, with those injectors.
