:shhh: Striped some teeth off my timing belt and bent a few valves. Decide to just go all out since i was tearing it all down anyways.
Head-hot tanked, valve job, valves, guides, 3g lifters, decked, stock springs
DKS cams 264/272
ARP Head studs
Decided not to use the mls hg i got because i didnt have the block machined so just went with the stock composite

i thought 272 cama would beat the hell out of our stock springs and cause them to break or knock the clips off. i may be wrong but thats what i thought.

Is there a difference between intake valves and exhaust valves? Or are they interchangeable?

why shouldnt i use a mls if i dont have the block decked ?

cause you need a mirror shine surface for the MLS to seal correctly. It is muti-layered metal some with viton rubber that needs a smooth surface to seal against when compressed.

Decking of the head and block are needed or you will most likely get a HG leak of some sort.

my decked block & head and MLS with Viton rubber.

A composite gasket (soft gasket) will take form and squeeze/compress and fill in imperfections in the matting surface. The only metal in these is around the cylinder bores.
