I am having a hell of a time dealing with rust. On my 1992 Eagle Talon TSI Turbo FWD. I am trying to swap the clutch and tranmission out. Do I have to disconnect the hubs? Does anyone have good instructions. I have been looking for hours. Can not find anything that I am looking for. Pictures with a step by step would be beautiful. I have found the haynes manual to be completely useless.

I can get you some pictures if you need to. But here are the instructions for pulling your tranny.

1. Remove battery.
2. On models with auto-cruise, remove control actuator and bracket.
3. On all models, remove air intake hose.
4. Raise on support vehicle.
5. Drain transaxle oil.
6. Remove clutch release cylinder and clutch oil line bracket bolt, then secure at body side without disconnecting oil line coupling.
7. Disconnect tie rod end and lower ball joint.
8. On 2 wheel drive models, disconnect driveshaft as follows:
a. Insert pry bar between transaxle case and driveshaft then pry driveshaft from transaxle. Do not pull on driveshaft, as doing so will damage inboard joint. Do not insert pry bar so deep as to damage oil seal.
b. Secure removed end of driveshaft away from transaxle.
9. On 4 wheel drive models, disconnect driveshaft as follows:
a. On righthand side, insert pry bar between transaxle case and driveshaft then pry driveshaft from transaxle. Do not pull on driveshaft, as doing so will damage inboard joint. Do not insert pry bar so deep as to damage oil seal.
b. On lefthand side, lightly tap driveshaft T.J. case with plastic hammer. Remove driveshaft with hub and knuckle as an assembly.
c. Secure removed end of driveshaft away from transaxle.
10. On 4 wheel drive models, remove transfer case in numbered sequence, noting the following:
a. Move transfer case to left and lower from front side of vehicle, then remove propeller shaft.
11. On all models, support transaxle assembly using jack, after moving transaxle to right lower away from vehicle.
When installing driveshaft ensure inboard joint is straight relative to transaxle.
Align serration, then securely insert driveshaft into transaxle.
Reverse procedure to install.

The haynes manual is how i did my first clutch job, i followed it quite easily. A lot of it is just locating the tranny then removing everything that keeps it where it is. A impact gun helps a lot, especially with the axle nut.
