My dad Chuck T. of HARDCORE HOTRODS of Rome, N.Y. wants to know if anyone has successfully completed this swap? I wanna see their pics as proof. Cause he in my opinion after researching the internet day and night he seems to be the first to do it. So if you know or have seen anyone who has done it i wanna see pics and date of swap. You can contact me personally through email. ok so here are my pics.

The real question is, why would you do it? The 4G is capable of making more power with less issues.

I've seen a pic or two of Ray's car. Yeah, he's done it. He also did the first twin-charged 4g63 that I can recall, though there was that Evo that was twin-charged. I think Ray was still first.

As mentioned, there's not a whole lot of point to it. The 4g63 is still capable of more power with fewer modifications, and a hell of a lot more aftermarket support than the 6g72.

alot of people say ray did it but i dont see any pictures i got 2 pics showing its clearly in there. if ray has done it i want someone to post the link for them and ill believe it. and was it a 6g72 DOHC twin turbo 3000gt motor that is AWD.

Well, I'll believe Ray, even if you don't. So will the rest of the world :). . . Anyway he said it handled like a pig (heavy V6 setup in a chassis expecting an I4). It was for a rally project. . .

Definitely, thumbs up for doing something different.:thumb:
Although there really isn't much to gain by doing this swap

i did not want to take away from any one else. i look high and low for weeks and months. iwanted to see pics just to look and dream. isaw a lot of people beat the idea down. any one smart enough to do this should have been braggin on the web i saw absolutly nothing not even alittle bit i did it because thy say it could not be done it is advertising for my speed shop i would like tosee rays pics and what year he did it

Please remember to use proper spelling, punctuation and grammar here. Thank you.

anything's possible with enough money...buy why? The 6g72 is a great engine, but obviously you could save thousands by building the 4g63 and be just as fast. Likewise swapping a 4g63 into a 3000gt vr4 would be just as retarded if not more so

He didn't brag about it because he wasn't impressed with what the platform could do. He WAS impressed with the m62 being fed by the 18g on the stock 4g63. 25psi by 1800rpms if I recall :)

Don't let that hold you back, or stifle your dreams. I think it would make a better drag car. He was trying to run in dirt through hairpen turns. A 10second AWD car could use more weight in the front to split the torque better between the front and rear in the 60ft at least. . . The 6g72 twin cam motor is a GREAT platform, VERY strong, GREAT flow. It is jsut like the 4g63 in almost every way, just V shaped and bigger with more rods to disperse the total power. I don't think you need forged internals to see 600whp reliably with the 6g72. . .

. . . I have a 6g72 in my minivan, hmmmm.

how much you got in your car. me 1500 motor trans ecu wiring 500 car w3inch exhaust intercooler 300 emanage/translator 300 clutch ? some mics crap im good to go most people that beat it down just could not do it i got a shop and the expertise

Really try a little better with the puctuation and capitalization. Sounds like a silly rule, but we WANT to take you seriously. Taking the time to type correctly helps.

I agree. Of late, the DSM world is just too full of naysayers and cooky cutter builds. If you have the skill and can save a dime in some aspects, you're looked down on even when you have success; because "you could have just bought X and have been done with Y". No one seams to look at this platform as a hobby anymore. . . just a means to a certain timeslip that someone else already achieved. . .

Sounds like you're looking for praise from all of usWTF. That's great, i've seen people fabricate some wild stuff on our 4g63s like the twincharged, or the recent compound setup. Like said, there isn't a power level the 6g72 has achieved that hasn't been made by a 4g63.
What you did was definitely not easy, and it would have been better if you did a step by step build-up with some pics of the swap, but you seem pretty intent on being "the only one"

you guys are all beatin me down .

No, you may have approached the whole situation wrong:(
If you did a DETAILED Build thread with pics, exact swap tips and then how much the swap cost you and then not insisted on being the first and bragging of mechanic ability, things may have went another direction
