Hey Guys,

Just got my new transmission to my house in Canada and so far I am thoughroughly impressed with the customer service and the shiny transmission LOL. Obviously I cant give a full report until it is installed and I break it in.

Hopefully I can get the 500 miles in before winter. God I hate Winter.

This is what my build consisted of

Value Build with the following
-Evo gearset i.e (1,3,4,5) all double synchro
-Hi Temp Clear Coat

They were even kind enough to include some flywheel bolts at no extra charge!

Response times on emails was always within 24hrs

Check out these pics.

Get some carb cleaner and spray it on a rag and clean the paint of the hub the throw out bearing rides on.

I do not paint my trannies, they are blasted and what you are looking at is clean bare aluminum casing. That trans in the pic was clear coated which gives it the glossy look and will allow it to stay that way for a long time. If it's glossy you have a clear coating over the unit, if it's dull you do not.

Jack

A sandblasted case is that exciting? All of the trans builders have done this for years now.

No, very few do. Most paint the cases which look like crap after a few thousand miles.

To answer these questions that were asked a while back.(I hadn't noticed)

They did offer to ship to Canada however living in a border city with American relatives I had it delivered to one of my American addresses in Michigan and drove it over, I payed around 200 for duty, which is not bad compared to what I imagine shipping would have been plus the duty :D

I did upgrade the center diff with:
4-spider center
Machined center diff cross shaft
Machined center diff lower housing
New spider gear kit with pinion gears
Torrington center diff upper bearing
(Most part of the value build)

i remember that feeling.. TRE did mine and he is really local so i went to pick it up and i was so suprised how nice it was.. TRE makes your tranny look exactly like that.. He doesn;t paint anything so everything looks like that aluminum color... I carried it 3 stories up to my apt and let it sit in my room for a week or to before could install it... LOL.. no more 2nd gear grinds...

I got mine from Jack's a week ago :D Except it was missing a couple things, LOL.

What goes in these holes?! I can't remember because I do not have my other trans to looks at and compare. I PM'd Jack but it doesn't hurt to get help from you guys.

Yes the two smaller holes I believe are just there as part of the machining process when they make the case, the bigger hole however is supposed to have a rubber breather tube that just sits inside of it, however I lost this when removing the tranny(it was brittle and falling apart anyways). When we reinstalled it I didn't bother to do anything about it as I did some searching and didn't find any that would suggest it absolutely has to be there(someone correct me if im wrong)

Ok, but what bolts to the two threaded holes, they're the lower 2 side by side ones in the pic. I know dale187 said they're just there because of the machining process but I just need another confirmation on that.

I think a bracket normally mounts to those two holes that hold either a wiring harness or something else there. I could be all the way wrong though.

LOL anyways like i said there is nothing that bolts there i have no idea what those 2 are.. But i would find a rubber vent to fill the bigger hole

Thanks dale187. By rubber vent, do you mean a rubber piece with a hole? Shep has my other trans so I can just tell him what I need shipped back and I'll be set.

Ok, and in Jeff's original post, in the first picture, are those just two rubber bushings in the holes of the bell housing. The holes are in the 9 o'clock and 12 o'clock position.. mines also missing those...

Yup, if you notice in the other pics in the corresponding outside position there is a lil rubber "muffler, chimney, tube" whatever the hell you want to call it sticking out. Also yes, the bigger hole mentioned earlier is supposed to have a rubber vent tube inside as well, mention it to them and they will know what your talking about. Use the pictures as reference if you have to:thumb:
