how to test the Wastegate to see if it is bad?

If its an internal wg, hook up a vaumn line to it and regulate air pressure to it and keep increasing pressure until the valve opens. I tested mine with a bike pump with a psi gauge on it, that way you can see if it leaks in the diaphram inside the wg. Increase pressure with bike pump untill it opens, see waht psi it opens, then release pressure, then pump the pressure till it gets to 1 psi before its suppose to open and then wait and see if the psi drops, it should hold steady.
