So I have a 4g63 NT 2g gs and Im about to do a turbo conversion. What are the wires ill have to add to make it possible to run a stock GS-T ecu properly? I tried to search but all the threads are about 420a 4g63 swaps.
 
I personally haven't been under the hood of a 4g63 N/T, but will say you will not need to add wires to convert to turbo...unless you concider installing a FDC tapping the MAS sensor as adding wires. The ECU will not know the difference that it has a turbo as the job of adding additional fuel will be controlled w/ some type of RR-FMU or AFR. Did you buy a kit? If so, most of the items needed should have been included in that kit (although some do not include the fuel upgrades needed).
 
Okies thanks, are you completely sure? I though that Id have to install some wiring for the MAF and fuel pressure solenoids etc... No I didn't buy a kit because those are way too expensive. Im going to gather stock parts to run lowish boost, for start. The pump will be Walbro 255 with AFPR.
 
You will need to add in the knock sensor, the turbo mas has an extra wire or two as well, I am thinking it is the barometric pressure sensor, but I am not 100% sure on that. The knock sensor wire will have to be a shielded wire that is to be grounded on ONE end only. If you run low inpedance injectors, you will have to wire in the inj resistor box or use an injector driver like the aem, the resistor box is alot cheaper and will be all you would need.
 
So a quick list for new wiring going to ecu

MAF wires, didn't find any barometric pressure wires from the ecu tabel WTF
Knock sensor (2G gs doesn't have it?)
Injector resistor box, is this needed with the 2Gs aswell, I thought it was for just 1Gs

how about the fuel pressure sole?

also is it possible to use some high impredance injector instead of low if the resistor pack is needed?

I have done the swap as well. I had a GS with 4g63 N/T and put a 6-bolt in it. But I changed the whole installation and put 1G harness with an 1G ECU. It cost me a lot of time and effort to connect all the wires from the dash to the 1G Harness (7 days with about 5 hours of work each day). Luckyli I had a donor 1g car and all the documentation for europe NT car. If you need electrical documentation for your DSM I can send it to you.

So - about your issues.

I don't remember if my harness was the same as the turbo, but I think it wasn't. One way to check is to get the pinouts diagram from here or here and compare it to yours by either looking at the ecu diagram here or checking your wires directly on your car.

- IMPORTANT: Be sure the ECU you are putting has no immobilizer - otherwise your car will not start. Most of the US turbo cars don't have this.
- The NT MAS is the same as Turbo MAS - no difference here I am using mine with the 6-bolt and it works pefect.
- Your car does have a knock sensor so you can use it as well
- You will need the injector resistor
- You will need a 2g turbo fuel pump (I bought mine for $20) or you can add an aftermarket pump and a fuel pressure regulator. Also you will need to modify the fuel pump holder (just shorten the lines).
- You may need the water cooling lines for the turbo
- Also you should install a FMIC because on our cars where the stock intercooler is placed we have the windshield fluid can. I removed mine and now i cannot wash my windshield (which is not a problem during the summer). After I finish my GSX conversion I will put a FMIC and return it :)
- You might need another coolant tank. I personally bought a slim metallic one and got rid of the stock. It was on the way of something (the UICP or the Intake Pipe).
- You will need to relocate the fuse box under the hood if you will be using the UICP hole above the fender.
- Also you will need different spark plugs and spark plug wires. My car was running awful with my standard wires so I put NGK wires and it started working smoothly.

If you are not sure about some part you can check it out here. You just input your VIN. What I usually do is to open it in 2 windows and select different cars so I compare part numbers to make sure it will fit.


It is mixed a lot in my head because I did the 6-bolt so I had to modify other things, but if you need more help don't hesitate to ask me. I have a second GSX donor car with the engine and harness that I am planning to sell so I can have a look at something you might need.

Thanks Alpha! Does the 1G resistor pack work with the 2G ecu? How about the high impedance injectors?
 
The resistor pack is the same so it doesn't matter the donor. I don't know about the high imedance injectors, but I suggest you use low impedance ones because after all the main source of info and parts is USA so I am trying to stay as close to an US DSM as possible. I even got my gauges in PSI :)
