Hey guys I have a quick question. I just finished installing my Bov and my new Turbo but I have a problem with my MBC. I have searched and fond out that the mbc should be connected with a line to the wastegate actuator and one to the nipple in the intake manifold or the nipple on the J-pipe. Well my problem is that I do not have a nipple on the j pipe of my new Holset. Also there are two nipples on the intake manifold and they are both taken, one by the Bov and one by the PCV valve. Where should I run the line from the MBC. I know I can T off of the bov line but I heard that isn't good. What are your opinion, should I just T off? Thanks in advance for all your help.

If you T it then it will work but its better to have a dedicated boost source for the MBC. It can affect the function of the BOV. I would recommend welding a nipple on the j pipe. It shouldnt cost much to have a shop perform it.

I was thinking about that too. Thanks for the reply. Is that my only option for now?

Should I give the MBC a dedicated line to itself and then just T the pcv valve into the bov line?

So the larger nipple is for the bov and the smaller nipple is for the pcv valve? Should the pcv valve have a line connected to the niiple on the intake manifold. Thanks again for your help, I'm just trying to clean up all these lines.

I might have those two mixed up LOL. I have the pcv valve connected to the nipple that is basically a couple inches from it and I have bov connected to a nipple that is more to the right and a little higher up. Man I would kill for a pic LOL.

Thanks alot. So from left to right, the left most nipple is for the bov and the next nipple is for the pcv valve?

Im not even sure I have a nipple where that line goes to on the intake manifold LOL.

:ohdamn: okay i hate tryin to describe in words. The hose running to the intake mani. Right next to the sensor on the left. That is to the BOV. The PCV hose runs from the back left corner of the VC DOWN to the #4 intake runner. If youve got a 2g intake mani you should have the same lines. The only intake mani thats different is a 1g. Even the evoIII manis have the nipple like the 2gs.

If your a stock 2g 7bolt then there is a small nipple on the far right for the fuel pressure regulator and one large nipple next to the MAP for the BOV

Make sense?

I think I just figure out our problem. I have a complete 6 bolt with a 1g intake manifold :ohdamn:. Dang, you've helped me alot man thanks. Do you know your way around a 1g intake manifold? LOL:D

Yes... The 1g has a smaller nipple for the BOV its located near the center underneath. From the factory theres wire loom covering it. Its in the same location as the above pic only moved over between the middle two runners and uner the edge of the plenum. Everything else is similar. BTW if you have your 2g intake they flow better if you have them portmatched to the 1g gaskets.

Hope this helps

Ok I got it down now no doubt LOL. I think I have the lines in the right place. Now I have to get that nipple on the j pipe LOL

Go to Home Depot and buy these things:

Plumbing section.. 1/8npt to barb fitting
Tools section... 1/8npt tap
Epoxy/Glue section... JB weld (JB kwik sux, get the regular stuff)

Then you can drill a hole, tap it with the 1/8 npt tap, layer the threads with JB weld and screw it in to get these results:

Bringing this back from the dead because I think I never got to install this correctly. IT is true Holsets and j-pipes don't go hand in hand LOL. So the method that snowborder mentioned of t-ing off of the FPR sounds like the way to go. The problem is that I am already t-ing off of that for my Boost gauge. Is it ok if I tee off both the MBC and the Bosst gauge from this line?
