I've been told to use this with my problem. But wouldn't this make my oil too thick for my turbo and possibly blow a turbo a seal?

I've used it a little in my DSMs when it was very hot outside last year, read this on additives.
What problem are you experiencing? Bad valve seals?

^^^Very Nice link! Thats an interesting concept. Most of the time when the lifters are ticking on a car people just say throw some locus in it and it will stop. It got me thinking does it really work?

I can honestly say i have used lucas oil stabilizer in ALL 7 of my dsm's, The only prob I ever ran into over the past 8 years would be on a N/A 1g in the winter untill the car warmed it up the lifters would tick on and off sometimes, The turbo cars love it i have noticed up to 175 degress off the egt VS no lucas, They run smoother in the grunt and on top, my oil is cleaner and it also has the ability to seal minor oil leaks by refreshing seals. :thumb: its well worth the loot every oil change, I have never had a prob with the turbo seals or anything else for that matter. Except the urge to drive my car more :D i dont buy the whole scam car "magic fix" crap its all just juiced up mineral oil or inert BS. I believe in lucas product's thats my 2 cents take it for what it is.

Ive used lucas in my dsms for years and ive had a lot of them i have way too many right now LOL but thats not the point -ive used it in all of them and never had an issue and it has actually quieted down noisy lifters in some of them -just my 2 cents also

If your lifters tick get the 3g versions. I'm not a big fan of dumping oil additives in the motor to "help" lifter tick

"Engine Restore" will most likely get rid of your 1g lifter tick. Try the 6cyl bottle. It works fast too

ya ive used the lucas in my 99 gst for the lifter tick to me it didnt do a thing for the tick but it didnt hurt the turbo or anything still runs good like the day i got the car so try it see what happens if not then replace the lifters try easy and cheaper before spending all the money on new lifters

in that link he is useing it with gear oil not motor oil!!
You obviously didn't read the entire test.

Regardless, I have used Lucas in all of my engines and still plan to no matter what. I've never pulled my dipstick hot and noticed air bubbles or discoloration in the oil. Perhaps Bob The Oil Guy should try bringing those oils up to operating temp as their viscosities are modified, and hot oils don't "hold" air like cold, thick oils.

How much lucas do you put in your oil? What do you use it for?

The recommended 20% goes into any car I change oil in at the time of the oil change. I've done this to newly-rebuilt engines after break-in, and well-used engines alike and never had a single issue.

If Lucas was making a crappy product they would either be out of business or brankrupt after buying new engines for 50+% of the population by now, but instead they're sponsoring all types of racing and putting their name on stadiums.

I'm not sure what Bob The Oil Guy is trying to prove here comparing Lucas, a very well-known and branded product, to Schaeffer's (?) oils which I've never heard of and appears dirty right out of the bottle in his nice clear test box.
