shifter cables

started to pull engine and trans today. and i was trying to tanke off the cables, what i would call C clips i was useing a BFR and they would not come out. any tips or info.

Lube them up with WD-40 or the like and then give it another try. Try breaking them loose first by tapping them sideways with a screwdriver and hammber then grab them with some pliers and rock them side to side until them come off.

If you're simply trying to get the cables off the trans you can just unbolt the cable bracket that holds the cables to the top of the trans. There should be two screws to remove and the cables and bracket will come off together as one. Of course, you have to remove the cable ends from the shifter arms too.
