Flapper Problem

Has anyone seen a flapper like this.I got a bigger flapper to fix the problem.The flapper does not fill the hole on the W.G have you ever seen this?

Look how far your sleeve has walked out of the housing! A new flapper would not fix that problem 100% until you tap that sleeve back into it's rightful home.


In this photo, the green arrow illustrates the sleeve that has walked out of the housing. You can either use a large bench vise as a press or a hammer to drive the sleeve inward until the flapper is centered over the hole again. I'll normally put a couple tack-welds where the sleeve meets the housing to keep this from happening again.

Tap in the location of the red arrow, in the direction of the red arrow.

Thank you for the info. I did not want to try to bend it back till I got someone with the same problem.Have you fixed this before??
