Did I port oil relief valve too much?

Ok I did the porting on my oil filter housing beacause I have NO oil squirters or Balance shafts.

Did I cut away too much material? Any help would be great before I install this thing.

Regardless of how much you port it's only going to bypass as much oil as the hole in the bottom (where the relief valve seats) will allow. I don't really think it's possible to port it "too much".

The stock return hole is definitely too small- anything bigger is an improvement.

Okay thanks guys. Now here is my other question. Is my oil pressure going to be super high still cause I don't have Oil squirters OR balance shafts?
Is this porting enough or is there something else I can do to make my Oil pressure lower?

I have heard of people clipping the spring. Would this work?

Also I have a NT oil filter housing. I pulled it apart and the sping rate , length of spring, Piston, and hole size are all exactly the same as the Turbo oil filter housing.

Is NORMAL oil pressure like 10psi at 1000rpm, 20psi at 2000, 30psi at 3000 rpm, 40psi at 4000rpm and so on?

But I built a NON turbo 6 bolt block with turbo parts. So it never had oil squirters to begin with. The NT block must compensate for NOT having squirters right? Cause the filter housing and relief valve/Spring look identical to the Turbo one.

Imnot sure bout this but I heard the springs are the same size but the turbo one is supposed to be stiffer. different spring I suppose

Yes I understand people are saying that the spring pressure is different, but I don't think its true. Cause I took the spring out of a Turbo and NT oil filter housing put a 10 lbs weight on each of them seperately Then measured the Gap.

It was the same gap for both springs with the 10lbs weight on them. I personalyy think the springs are Identical.

I have never measured them so ill take your word on it. I also read some where on this forum u can cut the spring just a lil and that is supposed to help. I wouldn't do that till you read more post confirming that. Did you say u eliminated the Balance shafts or kept them i don't remember.

I ported mine just like yours, maybe slightly bigger. My oil pressure doesn't run higher than 75-80psi. Although it ramps up pretty quickly 3,000rpms+ and it's already at 75-80psi but stays there til redline.

Before the porting it pegged my gauge @ 100+ psi, so now it's under control but it still rises quickly. As long as it doesn't run higher than 80psi overall you should be in the green.
