Hey guys looking for some input on a new build for a friend. He is going overseas to iraq and had asked me to start his build for him wile he is gone. He is looking to be around 500 awhp. We picked up a 2.4 block last night. What do you guys think is going to be easiest way to meet this goal?

Bigger turbo, new internals that can handle that kind of hp. So weisco heads, manly rods bore the valves 1mm over, front mount intercooler, 3" catback exhaust, aftermarket or 2g ported exhaust manifold, evo3 02 housing, aftermarket intake, bored tb, gm maf, dsm link v3 (the new one so you can run a gm maf without having a translator)...this list is really really long. Look in the tech articles for more ideas. You will also need the arp bolts, cometec head gasket, boost guage, wideband guage, maybe an oil pressure guage bigger injectors (800s) 255 wally fuel pump, aftermarket recirc bov, aftermarket FPR......yeah somebody can add more to this.

Depending on how much money you/he is wanting to spend, and since you have a 2.4 block, Brian Crower makes that 2.6L rotating assembly. You won't be able to wind as high due to the rod ratio probably but for a street car it would make getting to 500hp a lot easier. Just my $0.02
