My 92 AWD was sitting for about a year and a half, and someone took the strut bar off and left the three nuts on each side only threaded about halfway.
I was able to get 3 of these nuts off, but the whole thing spins when I try to loosen the other 3.
I don't want to have to replace the upper mounts because they are good otherwise, so could I have this welded or something?

Those 3 studs are part of the strut setup. You can order new ones at the dealer. If you dont want to do that then get a Tap and Die kit and re-thread the stud and Tap the nut.

I think that is called the upper bracket assembly with spring pad

If the studs are spinning. then yes have them welded in place.

what do you mean "the whole thing spins"? what "whole thing"?

thanks for the responses,
By the whole thing I mean the stud and nut spinning. The studs are fine, they just aren't staying put in the upper mounting. I wanted to know if I would be able to just get it welded. Since I already drove it down the street (forgetting that it was loose) I might as well drive it to someone who can weld it for me...unless anyone has as reason that this won't work.

a tap and die kit is probably the best way to go.

No...nothing needs to be re-threaded here, I'm talking about the entire stud not being properly secured in the upper mounting. The problem will probably be solved next week when my friend welds it for me.
