Help! Teeth stripped on flexplate.

Hi, iI have a 1997 Eagle talon TSI and I went to crank my car and heard grinding sounds from starter. Checked bolts for tightness, took starter off, and found that my teeth on my flywheel are stripped. Is there any way to just take off the flex plate with out removing the torque converter? Is there a replacement? This is my daily driver so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You have to remove the tranny, and torqe converter I'm sure. That thing is bolted to the crank.

Im just wondering if the torque converter comes off of the flex plate or do I have to buy the whole thing like on dodge cars and trucks.

Yes, the torque converter un-bolts from the flexplate. It's NOT a modular set-up like some Dodges are. You will definitely have to remove it to get the flexplate off.
