So, my 1990 eagle talon tsi has a special feature on it where you have to engage the gas pedal in a certain order a certain number of times to get the engine to turn on its fuel pump etc etc, i learned recently it was an ecu chip put in ( i just recently got this car) for security reasons, well all that aside i now move on to the bigger problem which is under WOT and driving, the car in every gear will not budge past 6k, (16g turbo) it feels like it cuts just like a rev limiter, iam not sure but the guy before me may have set the limit at 6k *if at all possible* and if there IS a way to do this please let me know so that i may remove it for track day

thanks,
BHawK

Sounds like a TMO chip with the security code thing? they are out of business but here is the link to the instructions Gauge Selection / Security I think you can change the rev limits, or it may be in valet mode or something? If you cant get it working properly you could get a new chip from KEYDIVER Chips - DSM ECU Tuning It could also be the clutch cut wire if its not connected correctly it might have NLTS activated all the time and that would limit it to 6000 RPM 89-94 Clutchwire Installation

ha holy cow, thats alot, but today after some tq value setting on primary and secondary bolts from the inside to the outside of the car, it is now Red-lining properly, the ic piping is not stock, and when i placed my hand on the ic pipe connected to the compressor, it moved around notably, but the bolts were as tight as tq specifies them to be, but, after a set of lock-washers the movement cleared right up, and now it (well one time during a shift) redlines. i however am looking into getting the gm maf, and maft for it, not just for the showy bov but for more efficient flow, now on that subject, if i wanted to adjust my a/f mixture, (ie lean/rich settings) guess id have to go through the ecu? and what could i buy to be able to adjust that? thanks
