Im Almost Done With My $50 Paintjob And I Got To Say Im Impressed...i Personally Didnt Like How My Carbon Fiber Hood Looked On My Black Talon And Got Tired Of The Oxidation So I Decided To Paint It All Black And It Looks Good ....i Just Wanted To Know If You Guys Have Any Tips I Can Use Before I Finish Im On My 6th Coat And This Is The Last Coat Im Goin To Do......im Thinking Of Wet Sanding With 1000 Then 1500 To Have It All Dull And Ready For Turtle Was Rubbing Compound And Il Finish With Turtle Wax Polishing Compund......any Tips Would Be Appreciated....i Just Wanted To Look The Best I Can Make It Look...i Already Read The Posts I Just Want To See If You Guys That Have Done This Have Any Tips.....thanks:)

NOPE I ROLLED IT ON PAINT LEVELS FINE AND BUBBLES GO AWAY....ill post pics when im all done probably tommorow i still have to wet sand it and polish it...should turn out decent....my hood was kinda getting yellowish but ive never liked carbon fiber on a black car just my opinion...

make sure the paint is compatible with the resin used for the carbon fiber. if not then it will peel off within 3-6 months period.

How are you painting this?

You have the right idea when it comes to capitalization, only it's backwards. First words in sentences are capitalized while the rest are lower case unless they are proper nouns.

you go buy a gallon of rustoleum paint and ultra fine foam rollers to roll it on the car mix the paint with mineral spirits to thin it out the idea is roll on two coats wetsand with 600 grit roll two more coats wetsand with 800 roll two more wetsand with 1000 then 1500 then use turtle wax rubbing compound and polish to get the car sparkling.....thats how i did it i just have to wet sand the last coat....and it looks good to me i went on to polish the wing to see how it would look and im impressed so yea just a little tip black is alot of work so another color might be easier to do

This is a pict of my first rolled Eclipse. Used Rustolem Gloss White with some Black to come up with this Grey ... True, if you make your paint thin a water, it's a breeze to roll something like this. But true, forget about the high gloss of a $2k paint job that has 6 coats of clear on it.

And if you're thinking on spraying on clear, you'd have to go rattle can, for catalytic clearcoats will eat right through the oil based paints.

When you wet sand, make sure you go back and forth...not circular. Pics when you're done too. Over the summer, mine will get new paint. Although I'm not going to use Rustoleum.

i fixed a carbon fiber hood, a buddy had his fly up goin down the road and hit the windshield , he gave it to me for free i fixed it, primered and painted it and it looked good when i was done, if you put all that work into it yours should to good luck.

If you take your time and have great detail into the paint, your car should turn out like mine.
