i have talked to some people and decided to go in way of a tubular manifold...my question is where can i find a reliable one, i have looked on ebay but you never can tell on their and i dont know enough about them to be able to look at them and tellw hich is the quality "aluminum" or "steel" that is required to keep from cracking....can anyone point me in the right direction of what they are made of specifically or where to find a good one for a good price?

DNP is a reputable manifold dealer. I would try either them or slowboy's.
Slowboy Racing, Inc. :: DSM :: Exhaust :: Manifolds / Headers :: DNP :: DNP 4G63 Exhaust Manifold For Mitsubishi Turbine Housings
If you do get a tublular you will probably want to heat wrap it with something as it will be very hot.

Have you considered the fp cast manifold? It is cheaper than a good tubular, flows just as good, and looks great too.

We ran an eBay special on my buddy's Talon for 1 season and it cracked 3/4 of the way around the collector. Of course, he had a Pacesetter before that and runner #4 broke completely away from the collector in a matter of months.

Until I run 9's (which will probably never happen), I'll be using a cast manifold of some type.

thanks guys im pretty sure ill be goign with the FP manifold!

where can i find the FP racing manifold, im sure thats a name you know it by but i cant seem to find one online thats called FP racing manifold is it just a ported evo111?

Do not buy eBay crap. Depending on the size of your turbo you have will determine whether a tubular would be useful and pretty much you're just screwing yourself by going tubular on a stock Mitsubishi housing. Do not think going tubular will give magical hp powers.

Real tubulars that are reliable don't come cheap and are in the $800-$1500 price range like Punishment Racing, JHRacing, JMFabrications, StraightLine Specialties, Shearer Fabrications which some of the pro fabricators listed above don't even make Mitsubishi housing manifold because they know it'll be useless in performance.

Just go with ported 2g or FP Race cast manifold.

and whats the benefits of being coated? is it just to look good?

To keep it looking nice... JMF makes a nice heat shield for it. So if you don't want to pay for the coating, spray it with some high temp paint and throw the JMF cover on it.

just the stock turbo as of right now, christmas im upgrading to 16g
