So I experience lifter tap when my oil levels get low. Its been happening for a couple days so I finally added more oil...now the tap is gone.

But when it was happening I noticed that there was a decrease in performance....turbo would spool but the power wasn't there. So yesterday I put more oil in, nice and full. Drove to work this morning and there's no tap, and it pulls a lot harder than when it was tapping.

So can valve tap register as knock? Or?

No, I haven't purchased a datalogger yet. Going to soon. I'm thinking it did register as knock or something because now its pulling again.

I have an oil leak at the damn oil cooler...haven't gotten around to replacing the housing with my forward facing bracket. Been raining too much.
