You cant use the Topline pistons with the Eagle rods. OEM rods are press fit pin, Eagles use a floating pin design, You have nothing to hold the pin inside the piston.

+1, I'd recommend just buying forged pistons, or sell those rods and buy 1G Rods.

What Jeff means is that the wrist pins in a forged rod/piston setup the wrist pin is held in by a snap ring. In a stock rod/piston setup the fact that wrist pins have to be pressed into the rods is what holds it in place

Not bad, I'm doing a somewhat similar build, but I see you didn't have any ARP head studs (even though you're not going to increase the amount of boost right away, but having the ARP head studs would allow you to do it later).

Short block everything looks pretty good except the rods as mentioned earlier. I would probably change out all the freeze plugs if you have the block out of the car.

Get yourself a set of forged pistons or a set of stock rods and you should be looking good for the Meat and Potatoes of the build. But, if you are actually planning on putting this thing in your car DON'T forget to budget in:

Front Cover w/oil pump
Oil pick up
BSEK
Freeze Plugs
Timing belt
Timing belt components
Water Pump
Accessory belts
Full engine gasket set
Turbo Bolts & Washers
ARP head studs
Clutch?
Permatex

yea i already got the permatex spray ready to go yea i just did not think that those rods where the float type oh well i will sent them back yea i am goung to get a stage 2 clutch. Thanks for all the feedback.
