so heres my problem
So i have a 1994 eclpse non turbo engine and i bought the turbo pistons and im replacing the nontubo ones with the turbo ones. i successfuly got the non turbo pistons out but i am having trouble getting the new ones in because they seem to be just a tiny bit to big to fit in. so what do you think the problem is here and how can i solve it?

You need a ring compressor when putting the pistions back in. Also, the only difference between Turbo and non turbo is the oil squirters.

Yea. you need a piston ring compressor, unless the problem is that, the pistons are actually bigger than the NT pistons. Pictures will really help out. If you cant put the top of the piston in the block bore without piston rings, then the pistons that I sold you must be oversized but its hard for me to imagine that my friends motor was rebuilt before with 157k miles, but I guess it is possible.

There might not be enough clearance for the turbo pistons. Could also be a ridge formed at the top of the bore.

so i tried to get some pictures up here but i dont have a good cammera so instead heres my numbers. the old nonturbo pistions are 3 3/16 inches in diameter but the new ones are 3 5/16 inches in doameter

If your engine is the 1.8 version, the pistons will not fit. This engine is not suitable for turboing, nor will it take any 4G63 parts. If your Laser is 4G63, the pistons are the exact same.

ok the bore on my engine is about 3 9/32 inches, so the difference in them is 1/32 of an inch its so close. but know that that is just a rough measurement i cant be certain on it. what do yall think the problem is?

I guess you need to cut the ridge out with a ridge reemer. But its wierd that the pistons are different sizes.
