Ok. so I have researched threads relating to my problem and unable to find anythng close to it. ok so long story short i retimed my car after swapping heads and timed it. 100% on the timing and went to start it, nothing it would crank but wont start, checked my fuses and scu and on another board someone told me to change this fuse and such so i did and i heard a sound such as a fuse popping and the whole car died when i turned the key no power killed my battery and all. so i charged he battery replaced the fuses and went on. still no start but cranks, got the fluke meter and and tested some things, i have NO spark, fuel, power going to the CAS. MAF, none of the sensors needed to start the car but it will crank just not supply power to those sensors. any ideas? my lastest is that the ecu fried and i need to replace it. help please this is very aggivating.:beatentodeath:

happened to my friends 90laser, we could not figure out what was happening, do this, take out ## ecu and take it apart. post pics of the board here. thats what we thought happened to his laser, but that was not the case, we checked every fuse, luckily he had an SAFC that wasnt turning on, so we traced the wire to the ecu and the actual power wire going to the ECU was not getting any power so the ecu wasnt getting power either, so we just ran a wire to it and ran it to a fuse and the car worked perfectly after that. you might have a similar issue. find a write up for how to install an SAFC and check the actual power wire that feeds ## eCU im not really sure what pin it is. that might be ## culprit

good luck!

EDIT: sorry, didn't read your entire post!

Check your main fuses on your Positive battery cable.

So theres no fuel or spark or power to the CAS? I had a problem like that with no spark but i had fuel. I found out that the crank angle sensor was bad, because that in conjunction with the cam angle sensor tells the ignition when to fire.

I would check the wiring to see if a wire is grounded or shorted, have a friend try to start the car while you shake the wires under the hood. It may sound stupid, but I did this and heard electrical sparking coming from the CAS, replaced it and car fired up without me shaking the wires.

why dont you just take the ecu apart first and see whats up? i mean unless you have an ecu lying around, i wouldnt just buy one without taking this one apart, its seriously like 4 screws LOL. make sure you post here when you figure out what was wrong

Here Are Some Pics Of The Ecu I Removed. Some People Have Told Me About When Removing The Cover Tosee If It Has A Scent To It. If It Has A Smell The Ecu Is Good But If There Is No Scent Then It Is Fried. Well If Thats True, Mine Has No Smell At All. Anothere Thing I Cant Notice Anything Wrong Execpt For On The Back Where There Is A Resistor At The Bottom There Is Corrision As If It Fried There. Ill Post Picks.

If you can take an X-acto knife with a new blade and scrape that corrosion away from around that small orange ceramic capacitor and not nick the board itself, it then might work.

That corrosion is shorting out parts of the momboard on that ECU.
