need HELP!! car doesnt turn on the first time

ok so i got a 91 tsi awd and every time i try to start my car it doesn't turn on.. i turn the key and the motor turns over and over but no start. and then as soon as i let go of the key and turn it again it starts right up like nothings wrong .. it does this everytime no matter day or night and yes i replaced the starter, i put in a brand new one...

car might have gas or oil pooling on the cylinders. My jetski would do this (although carb not FI) Turn it over a few times, to get some fresh air in there and it starts right up. My 98 GSX starts a little harder since I put the new FPR in. I turn it over for about 3 seconds, stop, then start it again and it fired right up. Im sure its nothing to worry about.

Your fuel pump is not priming properly. Correct me if I'm wrong but our fuel pumps prime the lines on key off hence why you hear the pump whine when you pull the key off. It sounds like you are losing fuel pressure over a length of time. Turning the car off and back on re-primes the lines explaining the immediate restart.

without trying to start the car turn the key on, wait 5 seconds, turn key off and then try to start the car.

I was under the impression these cars prime while cranking...

Your fuel sytem should hold pressure while engine off. the check valve on the discharge end of the fuel pump might not be seated properly, or fuel pressure regulator may be relieving.

so if you try and start the car it wont start but the second time it will? what if you start it and wait ten min will it start right back up again? I think it sounds like your fuel pump. I just installed a new one, and my oring was torn so it would never start the first time, but always the second time.
