Should the temp gauge go up under boost?

i was just reading through some other threads talking saying that their cars would overheat when they got into boost. my question is, what should happen to the temp gauge when you start boosting? i would think it would go up since the car is producing so much more heat, but thats just my guess. my car, when it sees boost, the temp increases past the half way mark, then goes back to normal after i let off; but ive never seen it overheat. what is the normal behavior for the temp gauge when boosting?

Its normal on forced induction vehicles. My GTP is Supercharged and does it, but its not intercooler either. A 180* thermostat helps ALOT.

It should be normal, but I am just looking at my logs and stayed the same after 1-2-3 pull to the redline. Then I hit it couple more times and it stayed 2 degrees cooler. Ooh, I have 180* T-stat. It only goes a little up from 195* to like 200* in real hot weather 85* and UP.

does the temp gauge on your TSi go up under boost also?

i ask because some people think that increased heat is fine, while others say that the temp gauge should stay near the middle at all times, even under boost. i was just wanting to see if i could get a solid answer to this.

Course, I'm stock, but even under boost, gauge stay steady. Also, I've flushed out my motor, radiator, heater core, all the lines of all the gunk, rust and what have you that was embedding in everything and removed A/C condensor to where the coolant in my motor is a nice green.

Prob why of these conditions of overheating is due to some sort of restrictions in their cooling system to cause overheating.

Keep in mind stock temp gauge is completely inaccurate. My sometimes barely moves, but on the other one I see temp differences, as much as 12*F.

it doesnt need to be that accurate for my use. the fact that the temp jumps to halfway between the middle and redline is enough to make me stop and wonder whats up.
