ACT 2900 Will NOT DISENGAGE

Brand new clutch master cylinder, new slave cyl. New ACT 2900 pressure plate, street disk ACT street-lite flywheel. Clutch will not disengage. 1st gen.Any ideas on how to get working?

Are the dowel pins still in the block where the transmission connects.

Clutch is adjusted all the way out. Transmission & Engine on dowel pins & bolted securely. Will go in gear & not disengage.

did act mess up the step on the flywheel? don't think so either.

grinds when you try to shift? hard shifts?

If you put the clutch disk in backwards you will have this problem. you can't disengauge.

you got to be dumb to do that ) On every ACT Clutch disk is a yellow sticker,which say "Flywheel side"

^doesnt mean it cant happen. I say if he can tell that the slave cylinder is pressing on the clutch fork like it should, then the transmission needs to come off.

i know this is going to sound stupid, but did you get your lines bled completely?, and also, isn't the 2900 a little stiff for one of our cars, or is it just me?

unless you need it for 700 hp or more.

I had the same problem when I installed mine. It turns out that when the clutch over disengages(bear with me), the pressure plate goes back towards the flywheel engaging the clutch disc again. I put one wheel on the ground while a friend pressed the clutch pedal with the transmission in gear. I tried turning the hub and with the pedal about halfway down to the floor the clutch was disengaged. Once I adjusted the rod it worked great.

First of all, bleed clutch thoroughly. If that doesn't get it, snag one of these: eBay Motors: DSM EXTENDED CLUTCH SLAVE CYLINDER ROD Eclipse Talon (item 260293433542 end time Oct-28-08 16:19:05 PDT)

It's an extended slave rod. It adds 1/4" more to the rod to allow full disengagement. It solved my problem that was similar to yours. Also, your factory hard lines aren't going to like the pressure in order to engage/disengage the 2900. I would reccommend new stainless steel lines.

Dont the clutch forks have a problem with bending? Mine just straight broke off but maybe the 2900 just bent it a little.
