So ive gotten alot of advice not to get a greddy BOV, but it seems as if its the most popular and most people say they havent had a problem with it. If i got an intake(I dont know which one yet, reccomend me one) and a GReddy Type RS BOV, would this setup work together? Ive heard about it being incompatible with your hood and all. Just need to make sure this will work. I just wnat to be able to bolt it on, not weld it.

+1 for 1g also. i have a type s recurc, and it works pretty well and sounds good to me, but i think that the 1g is the best valve that you can get

I got a Greddy Type S knockoff and it didn't seem to open up all the way. It would flutter in between shifts, and I don't think it even sounded that great. In fear of surging my turbo to death, I switched back to the crushed 1g. I don't regret it.

Had a Greddy Type RS then got a 1g and crushed it no complaints about the RS though
I had a 2.75" Dejon intake with my RS BOV recirc into the intake. Used a part of our upper radiator hose to make a return tube for it. No problems with your hood closing at all. You cant use it on your stock upper intercooler pipe though. You will need to get an aftermarket one if you dont I didnt check your mod list. I do love the crushed 1g though :thumb:

I have a greddy RS but if I have the option now I would get the HKS SSQ. Greddy RS you have to adjust and seems to never be quite perfect in my opinion, but the HKS needs no adjustment. The more pressure you throw at it the harder it seals.... that is up until somewhere like 38-40psi Ive heard.

And usually any intake you get as long as its set-up for recirculation should work no problem. Make sure you get the recirculation kit as well for either blow off valve, Greddy RS comes in a kit, but I think the HKS you might need to get a separate kit for recirculation.:thumb:

Anybody got a link to the HKS BOV? how does it sound? can i use it with my stock IC pipe? and what flange, and kit do i need?

My greddy rs bov works fine, but the sound of it gets annoying, its too high pitched. I like the sound of the hks ssq better.

I only found one crappy video quality of a HKS SSQ on a Dsm. will it sound about the same as it does on other cars? also, ive been reading that its healthier for your engine? LOL idk..

Man i had an ssqv on my tsi, and it was super freakin annoyin, it was so loud and the blow off sound didnt really very that much. going over speed bumps sounded the same as a 12 psi blow off pretty much( over exaggerating a bit). after getting annoyed with it i got a 1g and i think that its the best valve on the market!

I was looking into some greddy bov. Mixed feedback, an seems like greddy has bad customer service. That is alot of money to be taken a chance on when first gen bov tial an hks ssqv are the proven contenders in bovs.
