I searched but didn't find exactly what I was lookin for. The motor in my 1.8 went to hell. I'm gonna put a new motor in it but if it's not too much effort I might go with the 2.0 n/a. I know I need a new ECU but what else is needed? I've found it's not the much extra for the 2.0.

I knew wire harness too. I found a motor that's gonna have a 1 year warranty with 36k on it, and tranny out of the same car with same mileage for $795 shipped. I also found a 1.8 for it with tranny with 45k for $695 shipped. I'm guessing maybe $1,000 and I could convert it to a 2.0 n/a.

Your probley gonna need the full motor, tranny(possibly shift linkage), ecu (possibly wire harness as well, unsure though), and motor mounts.

I thought that the trannys from the 1.8 would fit the 2.0 blocks.

if your going threw all that trouble to go from 92hp to 130hp why not go all the way and look into a turbo motor and tranny, if i was going threw all of that i know i would want to go turbo

ye i would go ahead and get the turbo motor .like gst motor and ####

They cost about twice as much, and I already have a turbo dsm. I don't wanna go all out again I just need to get it running again so my mom can take it to work. So the 1.8 or 2.0 n/a will do just fine. I don't think my mom is gonna be racing to work, LOL.

if its not for speed and if its for a daily driver, just put the 1.8 in...i used to have a 1.8 and loved it due to the fact that if a timing belt broke, it wouldn't cost me a bunch of money for broken valves/misc head pieces, not to mention possibility of messing up the block...stay 1.8 if its not for performance, a bit less maintence needed than a 2.0...but then again, all DSMs love that special attention..haha..pz

im gonna put a 2.0 turbo in my car also, i was wondering will the 5 speed tranny in mt 1.8 liter eclipse bolt to the turbo engine, i got a complete wrecked talon to swap all parts needed to do the transing of parts. so it will be cheaper for me to do this than buy a turbo car instead
