Hey, since im only restricted to a couple forums i have a question, i recently bought a 1g 1993 eagle talon awd everything is stock, except i have a problem with the car smoking!!! the exhaust is somewhat blue and is visible at idle but not as much as when i step on it? the oil temp gauge in the cluster is higher than normal and somewhat smells like burnt oil after driving it. i am just curious with the information i wrote can someone tell me if it is infact the turbo itself or my pistonrings or internals?
Thanks

Oil at idle / low rpm is more likely a problem with the valve seals or the head. Oil burning at heavy throttle points to rings / blowby. You can take off the turbo outlet and see if there's a ton of wet oil in the tract to exclude the turbo.

A compression test in combination with a leakdown test can point you in a good direction.

i would definitely take your intake off and reach in your turbo and feel if the shaft moves up and down signifigantly. if so then shes shot.
Believe it or not, a 14B can blow oil without having shaft play.

I vote valve seals. On a car that old the valve seals will be as hard as a brick.

i agree with ya. my 92 was doing this also. my 14b had no shaft play but it was the reason oil was slipping by. i upgraded my turbo and that was it no more smoke at idle :beatentodeath:
