Ok, so I searched and searched and really couldn't find what I was looking for. I have a head that I am in the process of rebuilding (hot tanked, resurfaced, new valves, and valve seals) and can't figure out what head gasket I should use. The block will still be in the car so having the block decked isn't a possibility. I have read mixed reviews, if you're not having the block decked then you'll have sealing issues with a metal HG. I have ARP headstuds coming in for it and plan on running maybe 20psi of boost. Will an OEM replacement gasket be fine or should I take my chances with a metal headgasket? I don't want to have the problem of the metal HG not sealing properly, but I don't want to have the HG blow out either. This is all going on a DD car (which is seeing about 65 miles a day, not driving it very hard). I figured with arp headstuds and keeping it somewhat easy on boost I would be fine with an OEM replacement, but you know more than I do so I need your input.

An OEM Mitsubishi composite gasket will be fine. I run 25-28psi with my 50 trim on the stock gasket with arp headstuds.

OEM composite should be fine as long as you aren't knocking like crazy. If you are really concerned, you could spend the extra money and have the head o-ringed for the added protection... Just a thought.
