I have a clarion dxz785usb and im trying to install an amplifier and 2 subwoofers. When i connect any kind of wire to my amp turn on lead (including the remote wire from the amp) on the headunit it shuts off my speakers. The headunit will continue to run as normal but with no sound. When i remove the wire from the amp turn on lead and reset the headunit the sound will work again. Anyone have this problem before and any idea how to fix it?

I have a cap. I cant even get power to the amp because its like the remote turn on from my headunit isnt sending power to the amp. Is there anything else i can connect the remote wire from my amp to so i can get power?

my illuminiation wire is orange. IF i have no remote wire connected to my amp i shouldnt be able to get spark from the ground wire correct?

If you wanted to be ghetto you could wire 12v into a switch then into the amp and use the switch to turn it on and off.

If i put my remote wire from the amp to the illumination wire to i have to have a fuse in there somewhere?

And there isnt a short in my remote wire because any wire i touch on the remote turn on thats on my headunit shuts my speakers off.

you can wire up the remote to ANY wire that gets 12v when the ignition is turned on. I would splice it off the wire that turns on your stereo.

the red wire? I know the yellow is constant for memory so i wouldnt want to use that. Do i need to put a fuse on my remote wire since im splicing it in with the red?

Yes connect the amp turn on lead to the RED wire of your aftermarket radio plug harness. If you are tapping into the factory mitsu wire harnes the wire you want is the Fat blue wire then.

If the amp is cutting out the sound of the speakers when you hook up power, you may have a bad amp.

its a good amp. i pulled it out of my other vehicle so i know its good. I put the amp remote wire on my red wire and it blew my radio fuse. Could my remote wire have a break and be grounding out somewhere?

ok i found the break. When i put it under the side runners i accidently put it into one of the clips that holds it down. Works good now. Thanks guys.
