Hello everyone,
Im new to the tuner car im old school hotrod but i got a 2000 eclipes with a 4g64 that im rebuilding. Engine block has to go to the machine shop crank is shot and so is the balance shaft, I have been reeding on some thred about the balance shaft eliminator kit. The way this work is by covering the oil passes is that corect. I do some machining at the company that i work and i can do some work of my owne. cane I machine some bushing for a press fit and install them my self and machine a cover plate for the front.

All the parts you need are readily available at the dealership or in many vendors' Balance Shaft Eliminator kits. I suppose you COULD machine your own parts, but it would probably save you a lot of time and hassle to just buy the kit. I would worry that if the machining were off, there could be some oil leakage issues.

Also, FYI, 2000+ Eclipses aren't considered DSM's, as they share almost nothing in common with the 90-99 cars. The 4g64 is one of the few carry-over items.
