My old valve cover had a crack in it and leaked. So i baught a new one from a friend, repainted it and slapped it on. How long before I can drive it? Paint feels dry, but it's still a little soft. Also, the primer I used from advanced auto didn't say heat resistant anywhere on it, but the glossly top layer paint did. Should I worry about it melting?
Here it is before
(only pic of the motor I had)

What's the temp outside? What paint did you use? It shouldn't still be wet if you painted it properly.

its dry now, It was just a little soft earlier on some sections. I only painted it about 4 hours ago.

If you used the metallic red from duplicolor, it is going to fade. I have painted a few of them and all of them faded to an orange. For some weird reason the green and purple held up fine. Also, I let them dry for 1 week just like the back of the can directed.
