hello, everyone. before anything i just want to thanks all of you the answer all of my questions so far, but i still have many more.... jaja

where i can find a front mount intercooler whit the upper & lower pipes for cheap???
and do i have to worry about what BOV i have??
i really dont want to spend to much because i want to buy a 20g turbo

Ebay, craigslist, the classifieds here, and ANY vendor in the PARTS section of this site. They even have a listing of EVERY FMIC they make. DSM Intercooler Kits - DSMtuners.com

Do a little searching around. I'm sure you'll be able to answer all of your questions within a few minutes of typing something in the search box or contacting vendors.

if you looking to mod your car your starting out wrong. do some research and follow the general upgrade path.....if you want the car to be reliable it should be about quality not quannity...

Alot of people on here buy an ebay short route intercooler(ssautochrome type) which comes with all the pipes and is flanged for a 1g bov which can be modded to wor with a Greddy bov. there is also another kit which is an Apexi knockoff that allows you to keep your stock upper intercooler pipe for whatever reason but if you want to change the upper intercooler pipe you can get a Greddy upper pipe or Dejon tool, etc. There is also another short route intercooler on ebay that has ETS style piping(Which comes with a Greddy Type S knockoff BOV). Each of these are under 350 shipped. Heres a link to each.:dsm:

well i really wanted to buy the FMCI with the upper and lower pipes because my upper stock hose is in bad shape, i really dont plan installing the intercooler kit right now.
first in my do list are the intake manifold, catback exhaust, the 20g turbo with the turbo manifold.
i just dont want to buy a bad FMCI, i want one for a good price.

Do you really have an N/T? Have you read everything it takes to get your N/T ready to turbo it? Have you completely filled out your car profile?

Hey man, I recently bought a FMIC from Mangina24. He has ads here on dsmtuners and on dsmtrader.com Here is the link to the ad on dsmtrader: DSM Trader hosted by DSMsource.com - Message

That FMIC is huge and is really easy to install. I got it $330 shipped to my door in PERFECT condition. Comes with all intercooler piping and high-quality T-bolt clamps and black couplers. I would reccommend this FMIC to everyone.

Heres some pics:

I have not driven w/ mine yet. However, my brother bought the same FMIC from him, and has had it on his for several months now. Its looks great, and so far has held his HX-40 at 30psi with no problems. I should have my car finished by this weekend and once I get it running, I'll throw some more feedback in.

That same intercooler can be had for much cheaper than $330 shipped.

SSAUTOCHROME

or

VR SpeedFactory

They are all the same, however you will need an extra coupler and clamps if ordered off ssautochrome.

Add it up. As we all know, T-bolt clamps and good couplers aren't cheap. Also, you have to modify the LICP on the SSAUTO kit, I've seen in first hand, in my own basement. So add that plus the fmic and shipping you you are about $400...

The pics that I posted up is the VR Factory FMIC... Mangina24 sells them on the site. Thats why I reccommended him. Same product, really the same price. Personal opinion. If you want to buy from the site go ahead. I had a wonderful transaction with Mangina24, made a new friend, too. Try that with VR Factory... they just want your money, as every other vendor.

I understand your logic, however on ssautochrome's site the kit is $245, and the extra 2 couplers and clamps needed can be purchased there too for $15.

Also, when i bought my 2g kit from SSAC (about 3 months ago) the prices included shipping. So i got my kit for under $300 shipped.:thumb:

But either way you go, you cant loose, the quality is amazing, and the fitment is good for how big this thing is.

It makes since that ordering it off SSAC is cheaper. How else would VR Speed factory buy and re-sell them and make money.

However i didnt realize that the VR kit had a difference in the piping.

The SSAUTO piping is more steel based I'm pretty sure. The VR is Aluminum. I am very satisfied with the VR FMIC that I bought from Mangina24. It's amazing. Piping is durable, polished, and will keep intake temps down more as we know aluminum disapates heat better than steel. So.... the cores are the same, the piping is better, come with all couplers, and comes with all T-bolt clamps, I had 2 extras. My V Trim is downfiring though...I didn't have to use one coupler for a j-pipe to U-bend piece. VR for sure. :)

Either way... both are really good and efficient FMIC's. :dsm:

If you dont want to spend a lot of money they I'd recomend if you have access either through a friend or someone to just buy an intercooler and then order u-bent piping and couplers and clamps and make a kit. I made a good kit for my galant and I dont think I spent more than $500. I got a good Treadstone core and endtanks, Had a friend weld them together. Then ordered couplers, and a bov flange and then got clamps from a local shop. I've rum 27lbs of boost through this kit with a 56trim and I've had no issues. Here's some pics and some links for the sites I bought my stuff from.

Yes, this works well if you want to keep your foglights. You can get a little smaller core and do the piping however you want, just try to find a piece that has the bov flange you want and put it in the system using couplers. This way you dont have to had anything welded.

Foglights, shmoglights. ;) Lol. I'd rather be bigger and more efficient. The foglights only added a touch of style to late night cruising. Not that the person to the side of me could see them... maybe I should get some pretty tail lights or something? LOL. I couldn't really tell a difference when you turned them on and off. So... they got hung up on the "DSM" shelf and has 2.5" ICP running through its place. :dsm:

Bigger isnt always better. If your running a stock setup and a giant fmic then chances are you loosing a good amount of pressure.

honestly it all depends on your ultimate goals with your car. if you want to rock out with 400-600 horse go big, if you want the 200 horse range, upgrade to a ebay side mount. I was trying to find the page, but bushur racing did a test on ebay intercoolers vs. the name brand and they didn't notice a difference till after like 5 or 6 dyno pulls back to back. Personally if you want a 20g... go with 31x8x3 or even 31x12x3... rock it out, make it look good, fill up the front bumper and get the 20g, 750cc injectors, avcr boost controller, fuel pump, dsmlink or safc2, and you be rocking good power.

Just to be clear, I'm not buying these from SSAUTO and reselling them. They are being aquired directly from the source (factory overseas) except for the fact that I get to customize the kit in order to get a better quality product. The cost does rise but in the end it benefits the consumer. For example, I didn't have the couplers changed from blue to black for looks, it's because they are better quality 3 ply fiber reinforced silicone material instead of the plain silicone couplers SSAUTO supplies you with and the t-bolt clamps are fully stainless steel opposed to the partially mild steel clamps they supply you with (weaker and WILL rust). The VR Speed kit uses aluminum piping which is MUCH better for heat dissapation (the main reason the intercooler cores are made of aluminum, will never rust) instead of the stainless steel (cheaper material due to high iron content and WILL rust with enough moisture). Our cost is also increased due to having each throttle body/bov flange machined opposed to where the ssauto's surfaces are almost always warped. I'm not trying to put the SSAUTO kit down but the kit sold on VRSF isn't an ssauto kit, it's a VRSF kit. I do not trade with ssauto nor do I purchase parts from them. In reality the SSAUTO kit is a poor AGP knock off with less couplers.

Aside from that stuff, the missing coupler that's supplied with the VR Speed kit is 5" long and solves 100% of the fitment issues people have when mounting the cores too low which has happened a lot in the past.

Of course you can pay an extra $15 bucks from ssauto and get a 2.5" coupler and 2 tbolt clamps but in reality you're purchasing more of the same stuff I made sure to avoid when I had these kits produced. The extra 5" long coupler is going to cost you at least $35 including shipping and a decent set of t-bolt clamps will run about $4 - $5 each so $13-$15 including shipping (assuming they are from different sources) which adds up to $50 alone on just those 3 parts. Now when you consider the fact that the VR Speed kit supplies you with better quality t-bolt clamps (10x), better quality couplers (5x), extra machine work, better quality piping and better quality piping mateiral, the extra $20 bucks doesn't look too bad. BTW these kits are $290 plus shipping. Shipping ranges from $16-$39 FULLY insured so you can't assume the kit is always $330.

I've personally installed half a dozen of these kits and had one on my previous talon so having first hand experience with the kit is usually helpful when people have installation questions/problems. I'm not sure if you've heard about ssauto's customer service but they literally have no customer service so if you have problems or something ends up defective/damaged you're on your own. They offer no warranty where the VR Speed kit offers a lifetime warranty and you get plenty of support . I'm not making a killing on these and to be honest with you I didn't even plan on placing another order of these kits but I had a few friends (2GAWD4U2NV) who wanted the same kit after they had personal experience with the kit.

Sorry for the long post :)
