quick ecu question

so i have a ecu with a bad ground but i might have found a new one to replace it. but im not sure if its the correct one. is there like a ecu code on the side? and if so what is it? i have a 90 talon tsi turbo. ### help thanks

&
6/90-6/92 - MD166262

how do i know which it is? that is if its a non cali car

Take a look at your Ecu and find out which it really is. There is no point in guessing. Also you will have to be careful if you do choose to buy another Ecu that is in fact from a 90. They are different.

you could look at the Id tag in the driver's side door jam for the month and year the car was made too. hope this helps

yeah thats what i hear. i will jst have to pull mine and check. damn me and my 90 jk. i love her but it should jst be written on the side right? is it like a sticker?

You need a MD145903 if it's Federal and MD145902 if it's California.
You can also use the FWD versions MD128625 or MD128623. The Federal versions will work in California cars too.

The dates in the list are build dates. You have to remember that a given model years production usually ran from the second week of June to the first week of the following June. So the 90 model year ended basicly in June 1990 and the 91's started.
